Chapter 1

Angela

Can you picture a twenty-two-year-old woman who seems like any regular gal during the day, but at night, she transforms into a total badass? They call her the Angel of Death.

Whenever I step into the ring for those underground fights, my opponents usually freeze up when they realize who they're up against. I feel a bit sorry for them, so I let them take the first swing or two. I just laugh it off because, in the end, I always come out on top.

When I’m not throwing punches underground, I’m working as an assassin, still going by the name Angel of Death. I once raked in a whopping $60 million in a single day—not too shabby, right? Plus, I earn some cash from the fights too. Whenever I take someone out, I make sure it looks like an accident or just natural causes. I don’t leave any signature like most assassins; I prefer to keep my tracks covered.

I make it a point to have my clients spread the word about my skills. I started off as my parents' personal hitwoman, but once I got into underground fighting, my reputation skyrocketed. After one of my matches, I overheard a bunch of guys talking about a target they’d been hunting for ages without any luck.

I kept eavesdropping after each fight and gathered plenty of intel on the guy they were after. Craving some action, I hopped on a plane, tracked him down a few days after I landed, and took care of business.

The next week, before my fight, I printed out a picture of the guy I had just eliminated and handed it to those men who were searching for him. I shot them a wink before stepping into the ring for my next match.

By the following night, my name was buzzing all over the club, and suddenly, I was surrounded by people begging me to take out someone for cash.

I totally went along with everything they offered me. This all started when I was just about to turn eighteen, and now that I’m twenty-two, I’m making more than enough cash.

Every night when I get home, my parents ask me about my fights and my hits. They want to know everything. I understand why. They were loving and caring. I dont blame them; I am their youngest daughter after all. I’ve got an older sister who’s one of the top lawyers in the country. She decided to become a lawyer because she figured if my parents or I ever got caught, she could easily get us off the hook, even though we are not exactly innocent. She’s never lost a case, and I can’t help but feel super proud of her.

I’ve always enjoyed the life I’ve been given. I love being able to do whatever I want, especially my favorite pastimes—illegal fighting and killing. I don’t have to stress about the cops finding my fingerprints or DNA because they’ve never connected the dots on the bodies they’ve discovered because I don’t kill someone with guns or anything that could look like a murder.

I like to keep it that way. Up until now, one could say I am invisible.
