Chapter 3

Angela…

“I'm actually seventeen." I say, taking another sip of my margarita. My glass is nearly empty. I know he likes his girls young. We did our research on this man and the things we found is something that makes my skin crawl.

"I like it. Don't worry, I won't spill the beans," he replies, finishing his drink and waving at the bartender for a refill. I downed the last of my margarita and set the glass down. "Want another one?" Donovan asks.

"Yes, please."

"Another round for me and... margarita?"

He looks at me, waiting for a nod, and I give him one.

"I'm Donovan, by the way." Yeah, I know all about you, you creep.

"Cora," I say, using my fake name.

"Nice to meet you," I add. I’m trying to sip my drink as little as possible, so I keep talking, which is starting to get on my nerves, especially with him grinning like that.

He’s already pretty tipsy, so I decide to use that to my advantage to make my exit. I take a sip of my margarita, stand up, and quickly adjust my dress to hide the knife strapped to my thigh. "Where are you off to, baby?"

"Just a quick trip to the bathroom," I lie. Come on, Angela, hurry up. I’m over this conversation.

Donovan leans in, brushing his teeth against my neck while his hands slide up and down my thigh. "Want to get out of here when you come back?"

Yes, please, so I can take care of you.

"Actually, let’s go now," I whisper in his ear, pulling away to finish my drink. Donovan pays for both of our drinks, and I take his hand, leading him outside. We make it out of the club, and I guide him to the car Ares arranged for me. I tell the driver where to go, even though he already knows.

"You sure about this place, baby? It looks a bit rundown," Donovan slurs as he pushes me against the cold wall of the motel room I booked under a fake name.

“I'm totally in.” I reply with a playful smile.

"Take a seat." Donovan removes his jacket and drapes it over a worn-out chair. What’s that all about?

As soon as I plop down, he suddenly lifts my legs and spreads them over the chair's arms, revealing my panties. Well, that’s awkward. At least he hasn’t noticed the knife strapped to my thigh yet.

"Wouldn't you enjoy it if I fingered you?" Donovan starts rubbing my panties with his fingers while his other hand slides up my left thigh. "And after that, I’ll fuck you so hard you won’t even remember—"

I put my finger on his lips. “How about I grab us some wine first?” I suggest fluttering my eyelashes.

He seems to consider it and nods, “Sounds good, babe. I’ll get undressed and wait on the bed.” He releases me and heads to the bed. I quickly dash to the fridge and grab the wine Ares had stashed. I pour two glasses and slip the drug into his.

Donovan snatches the wine from my hand and downs it in one go. I smirk at him, “Three, two, one.” I count down, waiting for the drug to kick in.

"Who the hell are you?!" He gasps between breaths, and I can’t help but grin. He’s not even trying to fight back; he’s too busy gasping for air.

"I'm the assassin sent by The Vasilios Mafia to take out a mole named Donovan Brown." I say with a smirk as I grab my purse. "You might know me as the Angel of Death."

His face goes pale, and I can’t help but laugh.

"P-please! I'll tell you everything I know!" he pleads.

"Mmm, no." I reply, keeping my gaze fixed on him.

"P-please!"

My wicked grin returns as I watch him take his final breath.

I snap a picture with my burner phone and send it to my client.

I always make sure to text the location of the body. My client replies quickly, which doesn’t surprise me at all since I always tell them I appreciate a fast response when I send a message.

“Thanks. I’ll send some guys to take care of delivering the body to the people Donovan has been feeding info to, and the $1000,000 will be wired to your account.”

“Always a pleasure.”

Just like that, I slipped out of the dim motel room and headed to the waiting car. I thanked the guy before heading into the hotel. I swiped my card to get into the room, and it was dark, so I figured Clio was still out from dinner. I shut and locked the door, then flipped on the light. What happened next totally caught me off guard. "Details, Angel. Now." I jumped at the sound of Clio's voice.

"Clio! Don’t scare me like that! I almost grabbed my knife to throw at you!”

"Well, that would be one way to take out your big sister. But I want to know all about your kill tonight!"

I rolled my eyes and took off my wig, letting my natural hair fall to my waist. I started sharing everything that went down tonight, and the look on her face when I finished was priceless. "I can’t believe I have a little sister who’s a feared female assassin. I can’t believe I’m related to the Angel of Death!"

Clio started bouncing on her bed like a little kid, which made me laugh. A little later, I got a notification from my separate bank account and saw that $1000,000 had been deposited.

Another successful night for the Angel of Death.
