The Wedges of Sin.
Chapter Four.
Spades Pov:
On my knees, with tears streaming down my face, I pleaded for his forgiveness. I was consumed by confusion, unable to comprehend my own actions. All I knew was that I wanted him, and I didn't care who I hurt in the process.
As a member of the organization, of the Bratva, I had sworn an oath of loyalty and devotion. It was a small price to pay for ensuring my mother's well being and securing a better life for myself. However, my loyalty was tested the night of the gala and birthday party for the King's son, Ace.
That was the first time I saw the young boy. Sixteen and breathtakingly handsome, he had an endearing quality that left me unsettled. When he wouldn't stop looking at me, I felt a strange flutter in my stomach – the kind that makes you wonder if you have something stuck between your teeth or a smudge on your face. Because I couldn't understand why he kept looking at me, I couldn't bring myself to return his gaze. As a result, I failed to follow the Boss's instructions, and my first mission went awry. I was supposed to steal back the Heirloom sold by Nina during one of her many teenage tantrums.
The Don had attempted to buy back the moonstone necklace, but the buyer refused to sell, regardless of the price. So, the Boss decided that I had to steal it back. It wouldn't be my first time swiping jewels undetected; it was part of my training at the Elite school for criminals, where the Boss had sent me after my adoption. And yet, I had messed up another mission.
“You owe me, Spades, not only your life but also your mother's,” Lee's voice thundered. “Did you forget?”
I continued to plead, unable to stop. “Forgive me, Boss, I will do better, I won't let this happen again.”
Lee's expression turned cold. “Of course you won't, because you're leaving!”
My gaze shot up to his, confusion etched on my face. “W-What?” I stuttered.
“I'm sending you to the south, he snapped. “You need to get busy enough to forget all about this incident. And when you return, you'll be a new man.”
A sly smirk twisted his expression, leaving me wondering what he had planned. The South of Russia was not a place I wanted to be, it had Krasnodar Krai, Rostov Oblast, Stavropol Krai, Volgograd Oblast, Astrakhan Oblast. It had beautiful cities, but the criminal underworld there was a madhouse. I couldn't leave; what about my mother? Who would take care of her? He wouldn't do that to me. Would he? Do I know this man really well? Or has my loyalty to him just been desperation?
Lee's eyes narrowed, his voice laced with venom. “You want to be sleeping around with your sister's husband?”
I shook my head, horrified. “That's what I thought.” He said, turning to his daughter, who sat mindlessly tapping away on her phone and blowing gum. She was still in her wedding dress, and for some reason, it filled me with fury. “Leave us.” He told her and she walked away, not caring or looking at me. I hated her, deeply.
“But, my mother–” I protested.
Lee's face turned red with rage. “Your mother will continue to be looked after as long as you behave yourself and knock that boy out of your mind!”
I spoke without hesitation, desperation seeping into my voice. “I will, you don't have to send me away, I promise to stay away, I won't ever see him again, I give you my word, I swear on my oath to you.”
I meant every word, I couldn't bear the thought of being away from my mother. She was all I had, and if I didn't see her for a day, she would worry. Not seeing me for a week would surely send her to her grave. I couldn't do that.
“I give you two months, find a wife, and settle down with her. And I don't want to see you with Ace again. Should that happen, you will not only lose your mother, but you will also have to repay every penny I've spent to keep her healthy until now.”
Those words were all I needed to hear. I rose to my feet, bowing my head in gratitude. “Thank you, Boss, thank you so much.” I repeated, as he walked over to his chair and sat down with a heavy sigh.
“You are off The Marakov Case, you will know nothing about it, and you will ask nothing. The empire that was stolen from me will finally be returned.”
Although I never fully understood the reason behind the enmity between the Don and Pakhan Marakov, it wasn't my place to comprehend. Whatever they chose to do from this moment on was entirely their decision.
“You may leave, I need to have a word with my daughter. Get her.” He ordered and I nodded and made my way out, shutting the door behind me.
“The Boss will see you now.” I told Nina, she walked in, shut the door, and I leaned against it. I heard Nina's voice, her words dripping with disdain.
“Daddy, I am not letting that man touch me!”
I needed to visit my mother, to find solace in her presence. Nothing would calm me more than leaning against her shoulder, feeling her warmth, and seeing her smile.
The sound of my car beeping as I pressed the remote filled the garage space. As I sat in the car, my head leaning against the seat, and my eyes shut, I muttered a soft, “Fuck me.”
“I plan to,” A low, husky voice whispered, sending shivers down my spine. My head snapped back, but he wouldn't let me look at him. His hand wrapped around my throat, pressing down tightly, cutting off my air supply.
“So, you think you can leave me like that, do you?” he demanded, his voice laced with menace.
As I struggled, I wondered what kind of maniac I was dealing with. If he continued to press down, I might actually die. Tears rolled down my face as I tried to speak, but my voice was hoarse.
“You have to take responsibility for making me so hard and running off without letting me finish,” he teased, his breath hot against my ear.
A shudder rippled through me despite the arm wrapped around my throat. “Are you shaking?” he asked, his voice dripping with amusement.
He pushed down on the seat, and it fell over, bringing his face into focus. That smirk appeared on his lips once again, sending a wave of fear through me.
“You keep giving me the chase, letting me run after you like this…” he whispered, his fingers brushing over my wound.
I hissed in pain as he pressed a finger into the wound, and I could smell the blood. He groaned, his eyes gleaming with excitement, and leaned forward to lap up the blood.
“Fuck, you're so tasty, Puppy,” he muttered, his grip around my throat loosening, allowing me to breathe.
“Fuck off!” I snarled, shoving him away. The car space was cramped, but I managed to create enough distance between us. I yanked the door open and bolted, desperate to escape the clutches of this manic.
His hands grabbed mine almost instantly and he flung me to the ground, and with a speed I didn't recognize he was on me, his hands gripping mine over my head, pinning them down tightly, his legs easily parted mine and soon he was between my thighs. I felt his length pushing into me once again, and mine reacted almost instantly. He was a crazy person, and somehow, his madness was seeping into me.
“You keep fighting me, but your body often says otherwise,” His breath caressed my face and he leaned forward and swept his tongue over my nose down to my lips, causing a whimper to rush out of me like a repressed breath.
“Fuck, when you moan like that, when you whimper like that…” I watched him ground into me again, his hardness hitting mine mercilessly, the friction causing shock waves of euphoria to spread over my skin, hot and heated.
“Ace…” It was meant to be a warning, but instead it came out as a moan, a plea, and he groaned, his actions grew rougher, his hips hitting against me with an intensity that nearly had me spilling my seeds all over myself right in my pants.
He sniffed the air, and then he sniffed again. “Cum for me, Puppy,” he muttered and for some reason beyond me, I began to shoot into my pant. He held me firmly, my body thrummed and thumped, my mouth lay open, panting… Breathless.
He sniffed again, his eyes changing, a color I hadn't seen before, maybe it was the blur from my release that had obstructed my vision, but I felt it, the sting on my neck, the pull of blood from within me, the erratic humping in his hips, and then stillness.
