10-Mated To The Werewolf Brothers
Yuna:
I walked out of my house to go to the pharmacy and get some medicine. The howls were wild that night.
The howls echoing in the air made the atmosphere even gloomier. My heart pounded in my chest like a drum. I kept fidgeting with my fingers, anxiously looking around and over my shoulder to make sure nobody was following me. On top of everything, it had started raining too.
I entered the pharmacy run by a human couple on the other side of the hills and found them sitting there, looking clueless. They were the couple who had gotten permission from the alpha king to run a pharmacy. However, most of their medicines came from vampires, which was forbidden. The humans would give their blood to the vampires, and in return, the vampires would give us blood that was used in many healing medicines.
But that wasn’t what the alpha king had allowed. So it was a secret exchange.
“Hello, Mr. Walker and Mrs. Walker,” I greeted as I entered the pharmacy, drenched from the rain. My umbrella had long been swept away by the wind at this point.
Mr. Walker lifted his head sadly and sighed. “You’re not going to find any medicine here tonight.”
His sigh made me frown.
“Why not?” I asked.
“We’ve run out of medicine, but we’ll be getting more early in the morning. You can come back then,” Mrs. Walker said, rubbing her husband's back. Every time they ran out of medicine, they would get so upset. This was their livelihood, and they were barely making any money from it.
“Oh, but my sister is so sick,” I sighed, giving them a nod before walking out.
I stepped outside, my shoulders slumped in defeat. Going back home without medicine would upset Mom. She would spend the night worrying if Penny didn’t get better soon.
But what else could I do?
I walked with my head down. The cold wind and rain made my body tremble. But it was the feeling of someone following me that truly sent shivers down my spine.
There was someone coming after me—and fast.
“Hey! Please don’t—hurt me!” I yelled, running forward and tripping. The moment I hit the ground, the beast stopped and watched me.
With my hands on the ground, I tried to get up, but his stare was terrifying.
Kedron grabbed a fistful of my hair and yanked me up.
“Human!” he growled, sniffing the air. His eyes darkened as he held me in place, hissing through clenched teeth.
He seemed furious about something.
“Aren’t you supposed to be inside right now?” he hissed in my ear, releasing my hair only to grab my arm and pull me closer.
“My sister is sick, I swear—” I began to shiver, begging him with teary eyes to let me go.
“Gosh! How can a human be so tempting?” I started to realize he was drunk.
A drunk alpha on a full moon’s night was not a good combination.
And then he did something I never expected from my lover’s brother. He pulled me closer and crashed his lips against mine.
My heart dropped in my chest, my eyes widened, and before he could deepen the kiss, I placed my hands on his chest and pushed him back.
The moment I broke the kiss, I finally got a good look at his face. He didn’t look angry—he looked shocked. His eye color seemed brighter, his irises shifting as if they were trembling, and then he gasped.
“How is this possible?” He sounded so stunned that he spoke out loud.
He pushed me away, stepping back to put distance between us. His voice wavered.
“How can you be my mate?”
A fire rushed through my veins, goosebumps spreading across my skin. I didn’t ask him anything else. Instead, I scrambled to my feet, turned around, and ran away from him.
I was panting and sobbing, his words haunting me.
There was no way he said that out loud.
He didn’t come after me—probably too shocked by his own words.
As I ran like crazy, I spotted Denzel standing a little far from my house. He must have come out looking for me.
Even on a full moon’s night, his mind must have been filled with thoughts of me to come searching.
At that moment, I was grateful he did.
I wanted to be close to him—so close that there could never be anyone else between us.
Not even that monster who just called me his mate.
I ran straight into Denzel’s arms, hiding in his chest. I was trembling, terrified at the thought that Kedron might have been telling the truth.
That couldn’t happen.
He had to be bluffing—just trying to mess with my head.
He did that a lot. He must be doing it now too.
I shivered and sobbed against my lover’s chest. The only man I loved. The only man I ever wanted to be with.
“Hey, what’s going on?” Denzel pulled away just enough to cup my face in his hands.
I stared at him, my heart heavy with worry. How could I ever tell him what his brother had just said?
I didn’t need to.
There was no way a human like me could be fated to a powerful hybrid Alpha King.
“Did a werewolf scare you?” Denzel guessed, giving me a soft, pitying smile before pressing his lips gently against mine for comfort.
But then—I felt it.
His fingers tensed slightly against my cheek. There was hesitation in his body.
And just like I feared, he broke the kiss and frowned, staring deep into my face.
“What?” My voice wavered.
Did he somehow find out that I was mated to his brother?
Denzel looked confused, his brows pulling together.
Could he have smelled his brother’s scent on me? But it was raining—the scent must have washed away.
“I can explain—” I stammered, but before I could finish, he lifted his head and smiled.
“Fuck! It’s like I prayed so much for us that the Moon Goddess did the impossible.”
I didn’t understand the reason behind his wide grin.
“What are you saying?” I pressed him for answers.
“Yuna! My beautiful human—I just felt the mate bond with you!”
He grabbed me, cheering as if this was a victory for our love.
But deep in my heart, an ugly realization started to settle.
I thought Kedron was lying.
But if I was truly mated to Denzel…
Could I be mated to both of them?
Why?
And what happens now?
