Chapter 2

The silence in Emilia’s apartment was thick, heavy with the weight of Luca Valois’s pronouncements. “A blood oath?” she repeated, the phrase feeling foreign and absurd on her tongue. “You expect me to believe that?”

Luca’s dark eyes held hers, unwavering. “Whether you believe it or not is irrelevant. It is the truth.” He moved with a fluid grace that made Emilia’s skin prickle, a sense of unease settling deep in her gut. He was a stranger, yet he spoke with an authority that suggested a deep familiarity, a knowledge she lacked.

“And what, exactly, does this ‘blood oath’ entail?” she asked, her voice laced with skepticism.

“It binds us,” Luca said, his voice low and resonant. “It connects our fates, our destinies. It grants… certain abilities.”

“Abilities?” Emilia scoffed. “What, like mind control?"

Luca’s lips curved into a faint smile, a hint of amusement in his eyes. “You are understandably skeptical. But you will see, Emilia. You will experience it yourself.”

He paused, his gaze sweeping over her, as if assessing her. “The amnesia… it is a barrier. A shield, perhaps. But the blood oath will break through it. It will awaken what lies dormant within you.”

He turned away, pacing the small living room with a restless energy. “You need guidance, Emilia. Someone to help you navigate this… transition.”

As if on cue, a knock echoed through the apartment. Emilia jumped, her heart pounding. Luca, however, remained calm, his expression unchanged.

He opened the door, revealing a figure that made Emilia’s breath catch in her throat. The man was tall and lean, with an air of quiet intensity. His eyes, a striking shade of amber, seemed to hold a depth of ancient knowledge. He carried himself with a subtle, almost unnerving stillness.

“Emilia,” Luca said, gesturing towards the man, “this is Cyrus. He will be assisting you.”

Cyrus’s gaze shifted to Emilia, his amber eyes piercing through her defenses. “Emilia Gray,” he said, his voice smooth and melodic. “It is a… pleasure.”

Pleasure? Emilia doubted that. There was something unsettling about Cyrus, something that made her instinctively wary. He possessed an aura of quiet power, a sense of hidden depths.

“Assisting me with what?” she asked, her voice sharp. “With believing in fairy tales?”

Cyrus’s lips curved into a faint smile. “With understanding the truth of your existence. With unlocking the potential that lies within you....before it is too late”

She pondered on his last words. Was her life in danger? Was she going to die?

Luca moved closer to her, his presence filling the small space, and Emilia felt a strange sensation, a tingling energy that seemed to emanate from him. It was subtle, almost imperceptible, yet it sent a pleasant shiver down her spine.

“You have been… shielded,” Luca said, his voice sounded sexy and hypnotic. “Your memories, your abilities, they have been suppressed. But the blood oath is a powerful force. It will awaken them, whether you are ready or not.”

Luca reached out, his fingers slowly rubbed her cheeks. The touch was light yet it sent a jolt of energy through her, a wave of dizziness that made her stumble.

"I Know you're scared. You just got out of a coma with no memory of your past and it's too much to bear but be strong, my love. Be brave for us."

He leaned in to kiss her forehead lightly and Emilia’s heart raced with joy at how much affection he showed her. She didn't want the kiss to end. She wanted him to kiss her lips too, her neck and her belly. Before her imaginations went too far, Luca stepped back, his expression unreadable. “You will experience many things. Signs and glimpses of your abilities. They will become more frequent, more intense in the coming days. Do not resist them, Emilia. Embrace them. They are a part of you.”

Luca nodded, his gaze fixed on Emilia. “Cyrus will guide you, Emilia. He will help you understand the blood oath, your abilities. He will be your… mentor.”

“I don’t need a mentor,” she retorted, her voice laced with defiance. “I need answers. I need to know why I can’t remember anything.”

“The answers will come,” Cyrus said, his voice patient. “But first, you must understand yourself. You must understand the power that flows through your veins.”

He turned to Luca. “We should begin immediately. The awakening has already begun. We cannot afford to waste time.”

Luca nodded in agreement. “Emilia, you will stay here. Cyrus will visit you daily. He will help you… acclimate.”

“Acclimate?” Emilia repeated. “To what?"

“To your destiny,” Luca replied, his voice firm. “You have a role to play, Emilia. A role that is far greater than you can imagine.”

He paused, his gaze softening slightly. “Trust Cyrus. He will not harm you.”

He turned and walked towards the door, Cyrus following close behind. Before leaving, Cyrus turned to Emilia.

“Do not be afraid, Emilia,” he said, his amber eyes filled with a strange intensity. “Embrace the unknown. For within it lies the truth.”

Then, they were gone, leaving Emilia alone in the silent apartment, her mind reeling. The encounter with Cyrus had left her feeling disoriented, unsettled. His touch, his words, the strange energy that emanated from him and the way she had suddenly begun to desire more from him– it was all too much to process.

She sank into the nearest chair, her head spinning, her heart pounding. What was happening to her? Was she losing her mind? Or was there something more to this, something real, something dangerous?

She looked at the silver locket around her neck, its dark stone glinting in the dim light. It felt heavy, a tangible reminder of the blood oath, of Luca Valois, of Cyrus, of the strange, unsettling world she was being drawn into. She knew, with a growing sense of dread, that her life was about to change, irrevocably. And she had no idea what to expect.

Emilia felt a deep ache in her chest and stomach she took out her painkillers but strangely as soon as she stretched her hand to get her bottle water, it flew right into her hands, hitting her palm lightly.

Emilia dropped the bottle immediately and threw a hand to her mouth.

"WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED?!"
