Chapter 2
The mysterious woman's presence commanded attention. Her raven-black hair, streaked with subtle hints of dark brown, cascaded down her back in luscious waves, framing her heart-shaped face. Her deep black eyes, lined with fine wrinkles at the corners, gleamed with a deep wisdom and inner light, radiating an aura of serenity and power.
Her smooth, porcelain skin seemed almost ageless, with only a few subtle laugh lines etched around her mouth. Her full lips, painted a deep crimson, curved into a gentle smile as she regarded the chaos before her. Her slender yet athletic build was evident even under the flowing folds of her Elemental Master's robe, its intricate silver embroidery shimmering in the sunlight like a constellation of stars. Her sudden appearance and heroic rescue of Nova sparked a flurry of whispers and speculations among the crowd. Some onlookers noticed that she wore the distinctive Elemental Master's robe from the Elemental Academy, which identified her as the most powerful and respected Elemental Master Isabella Jones
“Did you see that? She's an Elemental Master!” someone exclaimed. “I've never seen anyone control dragons like that before.”
“She looks so familiar to me but I just can’t remember.” Another said still racking his brain.
“My guess is that she is the Elemental Master.”
“I know, right? And she's wearing the Elemental Master's robe. That means she's one of the most powerful mages in the land,” One of them added.
Others began to wonder why an Elemental Master, who typically kept to themselves within the Elemental Academy, would suddenly appear at the Human Kingdom's dragon-taming grounds.
“I've never heard of an Elemental Master intervening in kingdom affairs like this,” a noble said, eyeing the mysterious woman with curiosity. “There must be more to this story.”
As the crowd's murmurs grew louder, King Henry swiftly led Queen Evenly,Nova and Isabella Jones back to the palace, seeking refuge from the chaos.
Once inside, the king's excitement was palpable. He grasped Isabella's hand, his eyes shining with warmth. “Isabella, I knew you wouldn't forget us, let alone abandon us. I knew you'd return one day. We need to hold a feast to celebrate your return.”
Isabella's expression remained composed, her emotions expertly masked. A hint of a smile played on her lips, barely lifting the corner of her mouth. “I am not here to feast, King Henry, My return from the Elemental Academy isn't for a family reunion, I have another mission.” She explains.
“What other mission that’s so important that can’t wait? You just got here and you are already hitting the nail on the head, why don’t you get some rest, dine with us and we talk about It,we are really happy seeing you here today.” Queen Evelyn said with a smile.
“Like I said, that's not the reason I am here and it can’t wait.”
“Tell us then since it can’t wait, what exactly is it about?” Her gaze shifted toward Nova, who watched with rapt attention. “One that involves your daughter.”
Nova’s face filled with confusion and speculation, her eyes darting between her parents and the Elemental Master. Suddenly, her eyes brightened, and she exclaimed, “Aunt Isabella!”
Isabella’s eyebrows arched, a hint of surprise flickering across her face. “Ah, Nova knows about me.”
Queen Evenly smiled, her eyes misty with nostalgia. “We told her stories about you, Isabella. About the great aunt who gave up the throne to save the world.”
Nova’s eyes sparkled with excitement. “I heard so many stories about you, Aunt Isabella! I never thought I'd meet you in person!”
Nova’s face glowed with admiration as she gazed at Isabella. “I love your bravery, Aunt Isabella! Mother told me how you saved the kingdom from the Great Shadow that threatened to consume everything. You’re a true hero!”
Isabella’s expression remained serene, but a hint of warmth flickered in her eyes. She didn’t respond, but instead, regarded Nova with a quiet intensity.
Nova continued, her words tumbling out in a rush. “I’ve always been fascinated by your stories, Aunt Isabella. You inspire me to be brave, to stand up for what’s right, even when it’s hard. I want to be just like you when I grow up.”
Isabella’s gaze never wavered, her eyes locked onto Nova’s face. She didn’t speak, but her silence seemed to speak volumes, as if she were absorbing every word, every emotion that Nova expresses.
Queen Evelyn smiled, her eyes shining with tears, while King Henry watched with a proud smile, his eyes never leaving his daughter’s face but Isabella's expression suddenly turned grave, her eyes burning with a sense of urgency. “Princess Nova, I'm afraid my visit isn't just a social call or to talk about my praises you have heard from stories. I've left the Elemental Academy for a reason, one that affects the entire world.”
Nova’s excitement faltered, replaced by curiosity. “What is it, Aunt Isabella?”
Isabella's gaze swept the room, ensuring they were alone. “I seek the reincarnated Child of Light. The ancient prophecies speak of a powerful being, one who will save our world from destruction.”
Queen Evelyn’s eyes widened, her hand flying to her mouth. “ Don’t tell me, The Dark God..?”
Isabella nodded grimly. “His ten-thousand-year seal is weakening. When it breaks, he will unleash his wrath upon the world. I must find the Child of Light before it's too late.”
King Henry’s face paled, “Since the world is at risk, tell us what we can do to help you look for the child of light.”
Isabella's gaze locked onto Nova, her expression unreadable. “No need for that, I believe Nova might be the reincarnated Child of Light.”
The room fell silent, the only sound the heavy breathing of the king and queen. Nova's face reflected her shock, her eyes wide with disbelief. Shame and self-doubt crept into her expression, and she stared at Isabella, her laughter tinged with mockery.
“How could a failure like me, who hasn't even awakened dragon-taming abilities, be qualified to be the reincarnated Child of Light?” Nova’s voice cracked, her words
laced with pain and insecurity.
