Chapter 3

Chapter 3

Isabella Jones's expression turned solemn, her deep black eyes gleaming with a deep intensity. “The prophecy speaks of the reincarnated Child of Light,” she began, her voice low and mystical. “A Child who possesses incredible elemental talent, capable of wielding all elements. However, to protect your growth and prevent other powers from being exploited, the gods have deliberately sealed these abilities.”

Intricate, swirling patterns of silver and gold began to dance across Isabella's hands, as if the very essence of the elements was responding to her words. “As an Elemental Master, it is my duty to help you in unlocking your elemental talents.”

Nora listened, entranced, as Isabella's words painted a vivid picture of a world where magic and nature were inextricably linked. “I plan to take you in," Isabella continued, "and teach you the ancient arts of elemental magic. Together, we will unlock your sealed powers and prepare you for the great challenge that lies ahead.”

As Isabella spoke, the air around her seemed to shimmer, as if the very fabric of reality was being woven and nonwoven by her words. Her presence was mesmerizing, drawing Nova in with an otherworldly allure. The young princess felt an inexplicable connection to Isabella, as if their fates were intertwined by an invisible thread.

Nova’s brow furrowed, her eyes narrowing as she questioned Isabella's claims. “But Aunt Isabella, I don't understand. The prophecy speaks of a 'son' who will wield the elements, but I'm...I'm a girl.”

Isabella's expression remained serene, her dark eyes sparkling with a hint of amusement. “Princess Nova, the prophecy's language is often metaphorical, open to interpretation. In this case, the term 'son' refers not to gender, but to a specific stage of life.”

She paused, her gaze sweeping the room as if to ensure everyone's attention. “You see, in the ancient tongue, 'son' signifies one who has reached the cusp of adulthood, having just turned eighteen years of age. It is a threshold, a crossing from childhood into the world of grown responsibilities.”

Nova looked at her hands, disheveling her hair, her eyes clouded with doubt. “But...but how can you be so sure? What if I'm not the one?”

Isabella's smile was gentle, reassuring. “Princess Nova, I've spent years studying the prophecy, searching for the signs. Your birth, your...unique circumstances, all point to you being the reincarnated Child of Light. I'm not asking you to blindly trust me; I'm offering you a chance to discover your true potential.”

King Henry and Queen Evelyn exchanged a worried glance, their faces reflecting their reluctance to let Princess Nova leave the palace. “Isabella, we can't just let Nova go off on some wild adventure,” the king said, his voice firm but laced with concern. “She's our only daughter. We can't risk losing her.”

Queen Evelyn nodded in agreement. “Besides, what about her safety? The world is full of dangers, and you're asking us to send our daughter into the unknown.”

Isabella's expression turned solemn, her eyes burning with an inner intensity. “I understand your concerns, Your Majesties. But I assure you, Princess Nova’s safety will be my top priority.”

She paused, her gaze locking onto Nova. “Princess Nova, this is your decision. I won't force you to come with me, but I implore you: don't let fear hold you back. You have a destiny to fulfill, one that could change the course of history.”

“Aunt Isabella, are you really sure it’s me? I am sorry I am asking all over again, we need to be certain.” Nova inquired.

Isabella smiled, her deep black eyes sparkling with conviction. “Princess Nova, your age and location match the prophecy's description. But I understand that's not enough to convince you.”

She reached into her robe and produced an elemental compass, its surface etched with intricate symbols that shimmered with a soft, ethereal light. As she held it up, the compass began to emit a brilliant, pulsating glow in Nova's presence.

Nova blue eyes widened, her face reflecting a mix of fascination and skepticism. “What is that?”

Isabella's smile grew. “This is an elemental compass, attuned to the unique resonance of the Child of Light. Its reaction to you is undeniable.”

Still unconvinced, Nova raised an eyebrow. “I'm not sure...”

Isabella nodded. “Very well. Let us try something more...tangible.” She turned to the king and queen. “With your permission, I'd like to take Princess Nova to the dragon-taming grounds.”

King Henry and Queen Evelyn exchanged a hesitant glance before nodding in unison. “Very well,” the king said. “But please, Isabella, be careful.”

At the dragon-taming grounds, Isabella guided Nova through a series of exercises designed to awaken her elemental powers. Nova watched, intrigued, as Isabella demonstrated the techniques, her hands weaving intricate patterns in the air.

With a deep breath, Nova attempted to mimic Isabella's movements. At first, nothing seemed to happen. But with each successive attempt, Nova felt a growing sensation within her, a spark of energy that threatened to burst forth.

And then, in a burst of flames, it happened. Nova’s fire element powers awakened, her hands blazing with a fierce, golden light. The dragons, sensing her newfound abilities, responded immediately, their eyes fixed on Nova with a deep, instinctual respect.

With a gesture, Nova formed a blood covenant with Vulcan,a red dragon, its scales glinting like polished rubies in the sunlight. Overjoyed, Nova soared through the skies on her dragon's back, the wind whipping her hair into a frenzy as she laughed with sheer exhilaration.

Upon returning to the palace, Nova’s face shone with an unbridled enthusiasm. “Aunt Isabella, I believe you! I'll do it – I'll become your apprentice and help you defeat the Dark god!”

Isabella eyes gleaming with a deep seriousness. “Nova, hold your enthusiasm for a moment. This path won't be easy. It requires sacrifice, dedication, and a willingness to face the unknown.”

Nova’s face faltered, her blue eyes clouding with uncertainty. “Sacrifice? What do you mean?”

Isabella's voice was gentle but firm. “As the Child of Light, you'll be hunted by the Dark god shadows. You'll face challenges that will test your courage, your wits, and your heart. Are you prepared to risk everything for this destiny?”

Nova’s determination wavered, but she steeled herself, her jaw setting in a firm line. “I...I won't back down.”

Isabella nodded, a hint of approval in her eyes. “I expected as much. But there's something more you should know, Princess Nova. You're not the only candidate for the Child of Light.”

Nova’s eyes widened, her face reflecting her puzzlement. “There are others? So, I'm not the only one?”
