Chapter 4
“There are others? So, I’m not the only one?”
King Henry and Queen Evenly were also having a puzzle look on their faces. Deep down in their heart they wondered why Isabella Jones never talked about their daughter not being the only candidate for the child of light. What if there is more to it? Could she be hiding some details from them?
“Tell me, what other things is there to know,Aunt Isabella?” Nova asked, her eyes searched Isabella’s deep black eyes, but instead of finding answers, she saw only a hint of mystery. “
Isabella’s expression remained serene, but Nova detected a flicker of something beneath the surface. “There is much to know, Princess Nova,”
“Tell me everything, especially the others.” Nova was attentive, same with the King and Queen. Isabella Jones had no other choice but to break down the details about the other candidate of the child of light.
Isabella nodded. “I will, my princess.” She paused like she could sense someone listening to their conversation but that’s not really her problem right now.
“According to the prophecy, five 18-year-olds across the Otherworld continent meet the conditions for the reincarnated Child of Light. But only one of you is the true Child of Light.”
King Henry and Queen Evenly exchanged a concerned glance. “How do we find these other young people?” King Henry asked.
Isabella’s expression turned determined. “I have already begun searching for them. Just the same way I found your daughter, I am going to locate the remaining candidates and bring them together.”
Nova was delighted by the information she just got from Nova, she has never stepped foot out of the Human Kingdom. She heard stories of the Otherworld and wondered how it feels to experience them instead of just seeing drawings of them in books. In her deepest thoughts, she had wondered, if they are five candidates and Isabella has no clue on who the child of light is then what plans does she have to figure the Child of Light out? She thought about it for a few seconds before asking, “When you bring us together, what next? How do we figure out who’s the true Child of Light?”
Isabella smiled. “Ah, that is the easy part Princess Nova. Each of the five candidates will have a unique elemental power . I will train you all, and through your abilities, we will discover who among the five candidates is the true Child of Light.”
Queen Evelyn’s brow furrowed. “Do you have all the time to prepare each candidate?”
Isabella’s expression turned grave. “The Dark God’s power grows stronger by the day which is why we have to hurry so I don't know what time we have left. Once we confirm the true Child of Light, everyone will assist them in destroying the Dark God and restoring balance to the Otherworld.”
Nova’s determination grew as she listened to Isabella’s words. She felt a sense of purpose taking over her. “I’m ready to do whatever it takes to help find the true Child of Light and defeat the Dark God,” she said, her voice firm.
Isabella’s eyes locked onto Nova’s, filled with a deep understanding. “I know you are,Princess Nova. And with your help, we will succeed in our quest.”
“I can’t wait for us to take our leave already.” Princess Nova giggled about it.
Isabella said, her voice measured. “The path ahead will be fraught with challenges, and you must be prepared.”
Isabella’s gaze drifted to the king and queen, her eyes filled with a deep understanding. “The Dark God’s influence is spreading, and those who serve him will stop at nothing to claim the Child of Light for their own purposes.”
Nova’s heart skipped a beat as she processed Isabella’s words. She felt a shiver run down her spine, “I’m ready to face whatever challenges come our way,” she said, her voice firm.
The three princes heard almost everything that had been said so they walked in to make their enormous presence known.
“I always knew something special about my sister, I am proud of you and worry not sister, for I am ready to dispatch the royal guards to protect you from harm.” Prince Jack, the eldest Prince said with all concern for his sister Princess Nova. He loves her so much and wouldn’t want anything to happen to her. Getting knowledge of his only beloved sister being a part of the prophecy to save the world, the least he could do is to dispatch royal guards to always be around her and protect her.
“Thank you brother but that won’t be needed, I am certain I will be in safe hands with the Elemental Master..We all know she is stronger compared to the number of guards you will be assigning to me.” Princess Nova smiled at her elder brother, he is gentle like a dove and wiser like a serpent, he worries just like Queen Evelyn, despite all these kind traits he possesses,Nova knows he wants her to leave as well.
Prince Leo the third prince supported Princess Nova's idea of not needing the royal guards in her journey to the Otherworld but his words were nothing but mockery .
“Come on brother, just as our little sister has said, she is with the Elemental Master and our beloved sisters are embarking on a heroine journey, she is going to save the world, she doesn’t need the royal guards.” He walked closer to his sister but Nova just managed to give a fake smile on her face.
Prince Aiden, the cunning second prince hugged Nova and caressed her back as he wished her well on her journey and also gave her his words that he would make sure to look after the Human Kingdom once she is gone since the other brothers are more focused on her having the best adventure.
Isabella could read through Princess’s Nova expression that she was pretending to be happy with her brother around but she didn’t want to interfere.
Princess Nova felt so sad knowing that her brothers are just being jealous and hostile towards her so she has nothing to lose at all. She is ready to leave immediately with the Elemental Master and unlock her hidden potential.
Isabella Jones had a private word with the King and Queen while Princess Nova had to get set for the journey ahead. Out of everything she took, she made sure not to forget taking her royal scepter.
As they rode towards the city gate, Princess Nova glanced back at the castle, her heart heavy with emotion. She would miss her parents, her subjects, and the life she knew. Isabella noticed her gaze and nodded understandingly.
"I know how you feel, Princess Nova," Isabella said, her voice soft but firm. "But you need to face your destiny. You will always see them again, I'm sure of it."
Princess Nova nodded, though her eyes still shone with unshed tears. She turned back to face the road ahead.
Just as they were approaching the city gate, a deafening roar shook the earth. Nova's horse reared up in fright, throwing her off balance. Isabella's horse whinnied in terror, and she struggled to keep control.
The roar grew louder, and the ground began to tremble. People around them screamed and ran for cover, panic spreading like wildfire. Nova's eyes widened in horror as she looked around, unsure of what was happening.
And then, the darkness seemed to erupt with a terrifying creatur
e, its roar echoing through the streets...
