Chapter 6
“I need to go so I can warn my people, I need to go now.” Princess Nova said in a hurry and was about to make them get caught by the werewolves army.
“My father needs to know this so they can be prepared and…” Isabella Jones covered her mouth in a haste making sure her voice was not heard as he dragged her into hiding, “Shhh.” Isabella shushes her. One of the werewolves army that sensed a human took a look around and about getting to where Isabella was hiding with Nova, he was signaled by the others to hurry up.
He looked one more time and he finally took his leave to meet the others. Princess Nova was already covered in sweat and was frightening. Isabella let go of Princess Nova who tried so hard to get her breath, “You need to stop getting so loud, a mistake from you would have exposed us to them.” Isabella explained.
“I didn’t mean to get us exposed but the Human kingdom is in danger and we need to go back.. Please, I don’t want harm to come to my kingdom.” Princess Nova said looking extremely worried and there was no sign of that on Isabella's face.
“You need to get yourself together and focus more on our mission.” Isabella reminded her as they remain in hiding so they won’t get seen by the werewolves army.
“I know the mission is more important, Aunt Isabella but if I don’t warn my father, the king, they might all get hurt and I am the only one who can prevent that from taking place. I promise you Aunt Isabella.” She held Isabella's hand, “I will deliver the news to them and return back to the mission.”
“Princess Nova, the Human Kingdom got its own fate and that we can’t interfere. Our destiny is to find the reincarnated Child of Light to save humanity and that is what is important in our mission, so stay put, we are close already in finding Jeremy.”
Princess Nova was unhappy about it all, yes this is what she signed up for and she had no idea taking such a hard decision would be among it. Her family and the Kingdom has been her major priority and now she has no other option but to do as Isabella says. This is her destiny after all and there is no way she can let go of her fate but she felt resentment towards Isabella.
Princess Nova couldn’t keep things she was feeling to herself alone, it got to a point and she lashed out, “I never knew you could be so heartless and cold, I mean, my parents tell me good stories about you. I guess they have no idea you are this cold.” She frowned and Isabella knew why Nova was overreacting, it’s very usual for someone in her state to act that way.
“Are you going to keep me mute? Oh great, I should be talking to myself.” Princess Nova was getting angry and irritated, “Aunt Isabella, you are also of human origin , the king is also your brother, are you going to let harm come to him? Where is your conscience?”
“You are really heartless!!” Princess Nova repeated the words again.
Thirty years ago in the Human Kingdom, Isabella was once regarded as the Princess and her brother was King Henry. The people had high hopes in her and wanted her to be the queen of the Human Kingdom since her brother was just a gentle and kind Prince. He seemed ordinary in comparison. The old king loved his children and they had each other back with no hatred. When the old King finally died, Isabela was nominated by the nobles to become the Human Kingdom’s queen.
Isabella had other dreams as well but none of them was becoming the queen but because it turned out to be everyone's expectation, she had no other choice but to give in to their demands.
The night before the coronation,Princess Isabella stood before the mirror, her deep black eyes gazing back at her reflection. She wore a stunning coronation gown, intricately designed with golden embroidery and delicate lace. The gown’s silk fabric shimmered in the soft light of the candlelit room, catching the subtle nuances of her movements.
The dress was a masterpiece of craftsmanship, with layers of tulle and satin that flowed elegantly around her slender figure. A delicate silver tiara adorned her long black hair, which cascaded down her back like a waterfall of night.
As she gazed at her reflection, Isabella felt different emotions. The gown was breathtakingly beautiful, but she couldn’t shake off the feeling of being trapped in a role she didn’t want. She longed to pursue her true passion – becoming an Elemental Master. She wishes to attend the Elemental Academy.
Her eyes betrayed a hint of sadness as she thought about the responsibilities that came with being a queen. She searched for a glimpse of the girl she once was, the one who dreamed of mastering the elements, not ruling a kingdom. But the reflection staring back at her was already that of a queen-to-be, poised and regal, yet melancholic.
She couldn’t let go of her dreams so she voluntarily confessed her true feelings to her beloved brother, King Henry. Henry was puzzled but supported Isabella’s wishes.
The next day, Henry, as the elder brother, faced the nobles alongside Isabella and revealed her true intentions. All the nobles accused Isabella of being selfish and unwilling to shoulder the fate of the Human Kingdom. Henry defended Isabella against all opposition and showed that he too had the ambition to be king. Everyone was convinced by Henry, and ultimately allowed Isabella to give up the throne and go to her dream Elemental Academy.
Isabella’s face was etched with emotion as she recounted her past because she was triggered by the words of Nova. “I’m not cold-blooded or heartless, Princess Nova,” she said, her voice filled with conviction. “But now, I have a responsibility to shoulder – saving the world. Just like you, I have a role to play in this destiny just as you, I hope someday you will get to understand it.”
Nova’s eyes welled up with understanding, and she reached out to embrace Isabella. The two sat by the campfire, watching the stars twinkle above, until the first light of dawn crept over the horizon.
As they sat in comfortable silence, Nova’s thoughts turned to the werewolf army they had seen heading toward the Human Kingdom the night before. “I don’t like those werewolves,” she said, her voice laced with disdain. “They’re so cruel and heartless.”
Isabella’s expression turned thoughtful. “We’ll meet James William soon,” she said. “Let’s see what kind of person he is.
Maybe he’ll surprise us.”
