Chapter 1: A Wedding Not as Dreamed

At the Wedding Venue.

Ellie looked at the man standing opposite her. He still carried the image from her memories—tall, handsome, striking, and steadfast.

At last, she had fulfilled her wish: she had become his wife.

The ceremonial music echoed around them. Ellie watched as Galvin took one step after another toward her, her heart brimming with joy and happiness.

His eyes never left her. Ellie couldn't help but smile softly, her gaze shining with the light of bliss.

She waited for Galvin to come closer, to take her hand, and to pledge their love together.

But Galvin stopped.

Right in front of Ellie, before the eyes of everyone present, he pulled another woman onto the stage.

Galvin smirked at Ellie mockingly before wrapping his arm tightly around Fidelia's waist.

A shiver ran down Ellie's spine. What was he trying to do?

She knew Fidelia. The woman had pursued Galvin for a long time, yet he had never spared her a single glance.

And yet, why now? Why was Galvin pulling Fidelia onto the stage?

The ominous premonition in her heart had come true.

Under the gaze of everyone, Galvin cradled Fidelia's face and pressed a firm kiss against her cheek.

And Ellie saw it—the triumphant smile Fidelia directed at her.

Ellie couldn’t believe what was unfolding before her eyes. It felt as though she had been slapped—her face burned with humiliation.

She couldn't bear to watch any longer. Closing her eyes in pain, she heard the murmurs and whispers rising around her.

Galvin sneered as he looked at Ellie.

"Ellie, the day you used such despicable means to force me into marrying you, you should have known this was how it would end."

Her body trembled uncontrollably, her face pale. Ellie shook her head repeatedly. "I didn't do it. I didn't use any despicable means."

"Oh? Then do you think I married you of my own free will? Do you think I wanted to marry you? Do you actually believe I like you?"

Galvin's sharp gaze locked onto Ellie, his lips curling into a cruel smile.

"Ellie, let me tell you this—no matter what, even if I marry you, my hatred for you will never end. I will only despise you more. Don't ever dream of receiving my love!"

All eyes turned to Ellie. She felt as if she had been stripped bare, completely exposed before everyone.

The shame was unbearable, suffocating.

Whispers and murmurs filled the room, each word slicing through her.

"I told you, the one Galvin loved was obviously Glenda. How could he possibly marry Ellie?"

"She's a shameless woman who forced her sister's boyfriend to marry her."

"Didn't you hear what Galvin said? He absolutely loathes Ellie."

Ellie’s face grew paler. She shook her head desperately. "No, it's not true. It’s not like that."

Galvin was hers!

He had been her boyfriend from the very beginning!

Tears welled up and spilled down Ellie’s cheeks.

But... who would ever believe that?

The moments they had shared, the promises whispered between them, every second spent together—

All of it, even Galvin himself, had completely forgotten.

After the car accident, Galvin lost every memory of her. The most heartbreaking part was that Ellie had spent three months in a hospital bed, yet Galvin never once came to see her.

And when she was finally able to walk again and hurried to find him, she discovered that not only had Galvin lost his memory, but he had also fallen for her own sister—Glenda Hawkins.

Galvin’s icy eyes bore into Ellie. "Ellie, look at yourself—how utterly shameful. Now everyone has seen your true colors. You keep pretending to be pitiful, but in reality, you're more malicious than anyone! You forced your sister to go to Japan just to trap me into marrying you. Did you think that if I never saw Glenda, I would end up loving you? Dream on!"

"I didn't..." Ellie had no idea how to explain herself. She had never done the things Galvin accused her of.

She truly didn’t understand how everything had come to this.

Ellie could still vividly remember the overwhelming happiness she had felt when Galvin’s grandfather told her that Galvin would marry her.

She had thought that even if he couldn't remember everything, he would at least recall something—

Otherwise, why would he have agreed to marry her?

But unexpectedly, the truth was just like that.

Ellie had no way to defend herself; in a situation like this, anyone would think she was the culprit.

Hearing the murmurs around her, feeling the sharp gazes of everyone present, Ellie felt lost, unable to figure out what to do. It was as if she could no longer endure it.

Only one thought filled her mind—she couldn't take it anymore, and she had to get out of here…

Ellie kept stepping back, trying to turn and flee. But Galvin noticed her intent.

Galvin strode forward, seized her arm, and forcefully pushed her down onto the center of the stage.

That was the spot where all the lights shone!

Ellie stared ahead in despair. Everyone was pointing at her, the entire venue buzzing with whispers. She saw Galvin smirking triumphantly at her.

"What's wrong? You're the star of this ceremony. How could you leave?"

Ellie stared blankly at Galvin. Was this what he wanted to see?

Her heart felt as if it were being slashed by a knife, each cut deeper than the last, the pain unbearable.

A suffocating sensation enveloped her entire body. She felt as though she couldn’t breathe, her vision growing blurry. She wanted to struggle to her feet, but she couldn’t. It was as if all the strength had drained from her body. Her vision darkened, and she collapsed completely, unable to support herself any longer…

Had she fainted?

Galvin’s expression turned grim, his gaze icy, his lips curled into a mocking sneer.

He wanted everyone to see her in this pitiful state. A cruel person like her deserved such an ending!

And yet, as he looked at her like this, he felt no satisfaction. On the contrary, an inexplicable discomfort and unease stirred within him.

However, the feeling passed in an instant. He convinced himself it was merely an illusion. How could he possibly feel uneasy because of someone like Ellie?

"Enough!"
