Chapter 9
Nalya
I have been in this pack for a week now, and although some girls like Bithia and Uria have been assholes to me and pushed me around, I did not engage with them. Azura told me they were jealous, but I didn't see why. They had everything finer in life, and I was nothing. I spent most of my free time with Roma, he was so fun, and I found myself smiling a lot more when I was with him.
"You may take this now," The chef said. I carried the tray of croissants. They smelled so good. We quickly finished serving, and I was in a hurry to leave the hall, but Bithia and Uria cornered me,
"May I help you?" I asked.
They stared at each other, mind-linking before Uria moved away; "No, Rogue,"
I was about to leave when she tripped me with her foot. I fell to the ground, and Bithia 'accidentally' spilled her iced coffee over my hair.
"Oops, sorry,"
The girls around them laughed while others looked sad for me.
"Be more careful," she barked. I stood up when she pushed me. This time, I landed on my back with a thud. I stayed there for a while, waiting for the pain to subside. I heard noises and sat up, glaring at the two girls.
"I'll help you, Nalya," hands extended toward me, and I grabbed one.
"I'll get you a towel to wipe your hair," Another guy offered.
"Here, have my hoodie. It's a bit chilly,"
"Nalya, are you okay," Zayn asked. I recognized him as Roma's closest friend. I nodded, and someone put a hoodie over my shoulders.
"Why the fuck do you bully her?!" Zayn growled and made the girls submit to him.
"Z- Zayn. She bumped into me and spilled coffee on my dress. It's Couture!" Bithia screeched, stomping her feet to the ground like a spoiled child.
"We did nothing. The rogue is just a klutz," Uria added. A crowd formed as the girls complained. I noticed the Prince and his team just walked in, their attention here.
"I'm sorry for the mess I caused, Bithia, and Uria," I said quickly, wanting to leave already. The two girls scoffed and rolled their eyes.
"Here,"
"Thanks, Nial," I said, taking the towel. His eyes lit up in excitement, and he turned to his friends.
"She knows my name," He screamed as I walked away.
I exhaled and went to the bathroom. I cleaned my hair and changed into fresh clothes before washing the jeans and shirt I wore earlier while doing the others too.
I grabbed a book I found on one of the shelves and sat on the chair, starting to read out of boredom. As I read, I realized I shouldn't be reading it. With each page I turned, I got redder and redder. I looked around, checking to see if no one was coming. I sighed, smiling before continuing.
"That's naughty," the deep voice of Rhaegar said.
Rhaegar
It was torture, watching her silently. I became an idiot, always following the girl and hoping to catch remnants of her alluring scent. It wasn't supposed to be like this. I closed my eyes as Nate and Kendrick talked about the pack, It was growing wonderfully, and everyone was doing alright. All that was missing was a Luna, but it would change by next year. I will make Juliana my Luna, a powerful Luna for the people, and I'll spare my real mate the responsibilities with the position.
"Prince Rhaegar, did you hear what I said?" Kendrick asked.
"What did you say?"
"Where's your mind at? Missing Juju," Nate teased, and I grimaced.
"I was talking about Alpha Layth and his sudden interest in renewing the treaty," Layth Thorn was a distant cousin of mine and an Alpha of a neighboring pack, Summer Moon Pack. We've been allies, but lately, they have been claiming part of our territory in the east, and it has caused a misunderstanding. The last time we were in a meeting, he was adamant about ending our treaty. I agreed, but he suddenly changed his mind.
My mind drifted to the day he bumped into Nalya. There was lust in his eyes.
"Do you think it could be because of the ravishing rogue?" Kendrick asked.
"Maybe, she's quite popular among the young men, and most girls are envious of her beauty," he said. Indeed, Nalya had the charm to lure people. She was indescribably stunning with her big green eyes and that luscious hair. Her plump lips looked so- No, I needed to stop.
"A treaty is good for business, we need them for better trade, but I don't like the idea of him coming here as he pleases," I said.
"We're coming up with better terms that favor us this time," Nate said.
We were going to breakfast when I heard a commotion, and Nalya was involved. All the boys were rushing to her aid, and some girls looked resentful. She noticed us, thanked everyone who helped her, and left the room. I approached the group.
"What happened?" I asked. Nathaniel's younger brother, Zayn, stepped forward.
"Prince Rhaegar, these two girls tease and bully Nalya," he said, glaring at the girls.
"That's not true!"
"True! Even now, you tripped and spilled iced coffee all over her," Nial said. I exhaled and faced the girls.
"Nalya is our guest, and we will treat her respectfully. This pack doesn't tolerate bullying," I told them.
"We are sorry, my Prince, we'll be kind to the ro- Nalya," she said. I turned to walk away but stopped them.
"Zayn, punish them," I said. They complained and stomped their feet in protest, but I was adamant. They needed to learn bullying won't be tolerated.
I tried to eat, but Nalya consumed my thoughts. Those girls would not stop harassing her until she learned to stand against them, but Nalya just wanted to keep her head down and work. She wants to 'be with the humans,' Nalya was so clueless about the world.
'It's cute,' My wolf said.
'And tragic,' I added.
