Chapter 74: Worship and Wildfire
Damian’s breath was hot against Isla’s bare skin, his hands firm on her hips as he knelt before her. The ruins around them had long faded into nothing, there was only him, only this heat building between them, consuming them whole. His lips ghosted over her thigh, slow, deliberate. Isla shuddered, her fingers tangling in his hair, urging him closer.
“Patience,” he murmured, his voice dark with amusement.
She was in no mood for patience. Her pulse pounded in her ears, the slow burn of his touch making her dizzy. When his mouth finally found her, she gasped, her body arching instinctively.
Damian groaned against her, his grip tightening as he held her still, his tongue working her into madness. The tension inside her coiled, her breath coming in ragged gasps as pleasure crashed over her in waves.
Her legs trembled, but he didn’t stop. He was relentless, drinking in every sound she made, drawing her deeper into the fire.
“Damian,” she whimpered, her fingers tightening in his hair.
He growled in response, the sound vibrating through her, sending another shudder through her body. It was too much. Not enough.
When he finally pulled away, his eyes were wild, his lips glistening as he rose to his feet, capturing her mouth in a fierce, claiming kiss.
“You drive me insane,” he murmured against her lips.
She was breathless. “Good.”
His answering smile was dangerous. “Very.”
But the moment between them shifted as he pressed his forehead to hers, his fingers brushing along her stomach with a tenderness that sent a different kind of shiver through her.
A quiet knowing passed between them. A promise unspoken and deep inside her, something stirred. Something neither of them could ignore much longer.
