The light of Anger

A Year Later

Dali went to stay with her friend in a neighborhood pack. She hates being over-pampered the way her parents do her.

"Celyn, I heard the pack needs a new maid. I'm thinking of turning myself in. At least I can finally see the heartless Alpha I have always heard about." She said absentmindedly, knitting her clothes.

"You dare not!" Celyn exclaimed, and she was stunned. "What the fuck is that for?" Celyn asked.

"Do you know who he is? A pain-filled Alpha, you aren't even from his pack, or wait, do you even belong to a pack? You are over eighteen, and you don't have a wolf. Are you a werewolf?" Celyn kept on throwing different questions at her, and she felt disappointed

"Yeah, I'm not a werewolf, but at least I have blood running through my veins." She said slowly, feeling bad.

"I'm sorry, I don't mean it that way, but this man doesn't spare anyone that makes a tiny mistake." Celyn tries consoling her.

"Is fine." She picked up her bag and opened the entrance door.

"I'm leaving before I get late for the interview." She smiled and left.

Celyn shook her head and muttered. "Dali, won't you ever learn," She yelled, but Dali had already run off.

Dali was so happy as she made her way to the pack house. She was so excited that she didn't care about how she walked. She was walking first and wished to be there. If she could fly, then she would have passed, but she couldn't fly, and that was not going well with her.

She got to the pack house that was closed to the castle and was stopped at the entrance.

"What do you want?" One of the guards asked.

"My name is Dali Greene. I'm here concerning the maid recruitment. I want to work here." She said,

"And how are you sure you would get this job?" The second one asked.

"Anything is possible, so getting the job is possible too." She answered calmly.

The guards exchanged glances and slowly gave way. "Thank you so much." She smiled and entered.

"You must be here for the interview." She looked over her shoulder and saw a man. He should probably be the one to direct everyone to where the interview was being held.

"Yes." She answered.

"Follow me." The man said and led the way.

She followed him till they got to a room filled to the brim with she-wolves.

"Wow! I'm certainly not the only one dying to see the Alpha." Dali muttered.

"Have a seat." The man gestured to a seat beside him.

Dali sat down, and he left. No doubt, he is going to direct more people into the house.

After his departure, Dali glanced around. "This place is beautiful." She had never been to the pack house before, and thanks to the interview, she finally had the chance to witness it by herself. It is as beautiful as the people said. She wonders if the Alpha would be as good-looking as they spoke of.

Speaking of the Alpha, she needs to see him. Is he the one interviewing them? She strained her neck to check those doing the interview but couldn't see anything.

"If he were here, there wouldn't be silence like this. Where could he be?" She muttered to herself.

She wasn't going to let her come here be in vain. She looked around to see if there were any guards but saw none. Since it had not gotten to her turn, she stood up and tiptoed away from there and into the halls. She smiled in satisfaction like a baby who had been handed sweet.

"Now. Where do I look first?" She asked herself. If they weren't to show her the Alpha, she would have to see him herself.

She continued exploring the halls and hiding from the maids. She would sneak into different rooms and come out till she got to a particular room. The door was shut tight, and she smiled.

"I think this is it." She opened the door but saw no one. She closed it back and wanted to leave but felt the nudge to open it again.

Dali opened it slowly and stepped in. She looked around and beamed. "This place is beautiful... it's like heaven on Earth." She exclaimed.

"No doubt, this is his room. it looks befitting for a king." She said and sat down on his bed. It was so soft and comfy that she didn't want to stand up.

"But what if I get caught, and the room isn't his? I have to go." She said. She started tiptoeing out of the room, and her leg hit the table, making the glass of water fall and break into pieces.

Alpha Chase was in another room there when he heard the noise. He came to the room and saw someone trying to run away.

"Stop right there!" He ordered, and she halted. "Who are you?" He asked authoritatively.

Dali turned back and saw him. She felt something move inside of her as she stared at him. This was the Alpha she had been looking for. She finally found him, and they were right. He was handsome. She stared at him with bulging eyes, and Alpha Chase found it weird. He was also angry that someone dared break into his room without permission.

"What did you come here to do?" He asked, but she just stared. "Answer me!" He thundered, and she flinched.

"I... I came for the interview and got lost." She explained.

"Do you have any idea what you've done? This place is strictly restricted to apprentices in this kingdom. Are you this foolish?" Alpha Chase asked.

"I–"

"Guards!" Alpha Chase called angrily.

Dali gasped. She knew that if she was thrown out, then that was the end of the interview for her.

"Please, don't let them take me away." She pleaded.

"Take her away from here." He ordered.

They held her and started dragging her with them. She kept looking at him while he tried to take her eyes off her. As he watched them take her away, something unexpected happened. He felt that spark, that spark he thought had left him. No one needed to tell him what it meant.

"Is this some kind of joke?" He whispers.
