NARRATOR
Althea was standing beside the doorframe of Alpha's office. Alpha Damon pulled his son into his arms. He had missed his son. Alpha Damon's eyes turned towards the sophisticated-looking woman standing behind Orlando. "And who that might be? Another loyal friend of yours that you promised to bring here?" Alpha Damon asked his son in a jovial tone. Yet, he looked nervous for some reason.
Orlando pulled away from his father and looked at the woman standing behind him. "Oh! I apologize for not introducing her to you, Father." Orlando spoke as he opened one of his arms. The woman walked quietly towards Orlando and let him engulf her in his arms.
"Father, meet Princess Freya Whitemoon. Princess to the Emerald Kingdom. And my mate. Freya and I are marked now." Orlando announced loudly. Luna Mira gasped loudly as she heard about the woman Orlando brought home with him. It was like a dream come true for her. Since she hated Althea so much that she couldn't even stand to hear her name.
Alpha Damon was staring back and forth between Orlando and Princess Freya with a confused look on his face. He had a million questions in his mind that he wanted to ask his son. But he couldn't say anything in front of the Princess.
Alexander's eyes also widened as he heard Orlando. For a mere moment, he felt a little pain for Althea in his heart. But it didn't last long. "Serves her right. That's what a traitor deserves." Alexander thought as he turned his gaze away from Orlando.
"I think I didn't hear you right, my son. Did you say you marked her?" Alpha Damon had to ask that question to clear it out. He couldn't tell if he was hearing different things or if he heard his son right.
"Yes! That's what I said. I found my mate in the academy and I didn't want to leave without her. So I marked her. Once we settle down, we will have a royal marriage. Something my mate deserves." Orlando repeated himself. Then he leaned in and kissed Princess Freya's forehead. Princess Freya leaned into Orlando, staring at her in-laws.
A loud crashing sound pulled all of their attention toward the door frame. A bunch of glass goods were lying on the ground. Some were already smashed into pieces. Alpha Damon's eyes widened as he saw the innocent face of Althea in front of him. She had her mouth covered with both of her hands and her eyes filled with tears that were filled with more distress than he had ever seen in those orange eyes that had started to lose their shine.
Althea looked around the room. She saw a winning smirk on the face of Luna Mira. She saw a confused look on the face of the woman who was wrapped around the man she used to call the love of her life. She saw that same disgusted look on the face of Alexander. He didn't even pity her after she lost the last thing she had.
After everything, she gathered some energy within her. She turned her gaze to the face of that same man who used to care about her. She didn't see a hint of guilt, neither did she see remorse in his eyes. He was standing with his mate, smiling at her. As if mocking her for something.
With the pinch of dignity she had left inside of her, Althea turned around and ran away. She didn't say anything. She didn't yell at anyone. She just wanted to get away from that place. "Alex! Go after her." Alpha Damon ordered Alexander. Alexander wanted to roll his eyes but he respected and obeyed the Alpha like it was his religion.
Without a single second to spare, he nodded his head and followed after Althea. Alexander stepped out of the Alpha's mansion. He sniffed the air and began following the scent she was leaving behind. A little further away from the mansion, Alexander started feeling a little change in her scent. Something was different about her. Her original scent was fading.
Growling in annoyance, Alexander shifted partially into his wolf and sped up to catch up with her. She was running deep into the forest. Alexander was looking around as he followed her. She was running in a familiar direction but he couldn't tell how he might know that location.
Alexander jumped into the open field and looked around. The place was filled with oak trees on one side. And wolf's bane flowers on the other side. For some reason, her original scent which was fading away was very strong at that place.
He looked at the ground where both fields meet each other. He saw a big bunch of red wolf's bane flowers. They were so beautiful, he couldn't help but walk towards them. Red wolf's bane didn't exist but in the Dark Moon Pack, they had red wolf's bane. It was where Althea had shed her blood in loyalty for her Alpha and her best friend. The ground held the evidence of her loyalty, but people were cruel. Alexander touched the ground and realized it was the very place where Althea almost gave up her life five years ago.
Alexander stood up. A low snarl rang in his ears and he turned around. A beautiful brown wolf pounced on Alexander, knocking him to the ground. Its fur was way longer than usual. From the roots, the wolf's fur was brown and by its tips, it turned orange like the shades of dusk.
Alexander looked into the familiar orange eyes. That's what made him realize that Althea had awoken her wolf. His heart was pounding against his rib cage as he witnessed the most gorgeous wolf in his life. The wolf howled at him again and was about to snap her jaws on his arm. Alexander kicked the wolf off of him. He stood up on the ground and was ready for the next attack.
The brown wolf jumped on him again. Alexander grabbed her by her neck and slammed her hard on her ground. Due to the hard impact, she fainted. The scar on Althea's face was visible on her wolf's face as well. As if it was no ugly scar, but a mark of bravery that her wolf wore so proudly on her face as well.
Alexander was lost in the oceans of his thoughts when Althea's wolf kicked him off of her and ran away. Howling in annoyance, Alexander ran after her. He was surprised at how easily she was able to fool someone as trained as Alexander was. She took a hard impact yet she ran off as if nothing had happened.
"What the fuck! Why are we following her like this? She is our mate. We must call her to come to us." Alexander's wolf, Baron growled at Alexander angrily.
"Don't be such a pain in the ass, Baron. We talked about this. We will reject her tomorrow morning. Callista is the only mate I want in my life. And we agreed to this that we will reject our true mate whenever we find her." Alexander growled back at his wolf in annoyance.
He was still following her scent when he heard a loud howl. That howl gave him the exact location where she ran off to. "Bingo! Gotcha, ugly witch!" Alexander growled, smirking mischievously as he took a shortcut toward the location where Althea was.
Alexander jumped out of the mustard flower field. He was about to turn west to follow Althea's scent. But a familiar scent made him freeze in his tracks. Alexander felt the urge to follow that scent. It was the strongest and it was mixed with something he was not expecting to sense that far away from Alpha's mansion.
His claws were out and he was ready to rip the man who dared to touch Alpha's daughter. Fear was gripping his heart and he started running toward that scent.
"Oh, yes! Fuck me harder, Dylan. Make me cum!" Alexander heard her pleasured moan and his feet turned into stone. In front of his eyes, he saw Beta Calvin's son, Dylan, the playboy, sitting on the ground with his hands kneading Callista's breasts. While she was pouncing on his dick like a slut.
The fear inside his heart vanished and he felt the urge to kill that man at that moment. "What if your boyfriend finds out that you are banging me?" Dylan asked in a low and terrified tone.
"He is too wrapped around my fingers to realize that. Besides, it's his fault that he doesn't let me sleep with him. Girls have needs. No one gets to know if you keep your mouth shut.” Callista moaned loudly, blaming it all on Alexander's head. Alexander balled up his fists in anger. Without uttering a single word, he turned around and started following Althea's scent again. His wolf was suddenly happy, but Alexander was in pain. Both Alexander and Althea were betrayed that night. While they were saving themselves for the love of their lives
, their loved ones betrayed them heartlessly.
