Chapter 8
Laurel scoffed. The man's grip on her wrists was becoming unbearable. "Let me go." She spat with venom in her voice.
"You shouldn't have shown your ugly face here you…" The man started to say.
Laurel couldn't wait for him to complete that sentence. With unmatched agility, she sprung around, quickly changing their positions.
"You bi…bitch!" The man stuttered in pain.
"What is going on here?" Mr. Malik boomed with a half naked girl by his side. He didn't look pleased with the situation.
"This man here," Laurel breathed out, tightening her hold making the man yelp in pain. Everyone winced. They felt sorry for the drunkard. "He tested me…" She shot a haughty look at Mr. Malik, ignoring the disappointing look on Matteo's face.
"You silly girl!" Mr. Malik had screamed, shoving Mrs. Half naked to the side.
"Mr. Malik, can we have a chat?" Matteo half dragged the red looking man into the Tiny Hall. He looked like he would have a heart attack.
Laurel could still hear him lamenting about sending her out of his club. Matteo had saved her that day and like she said, Miss naked had probably satisfied him before he met her in that position.
She missed Matteo. Her best friend. Then Laurel frowned. Matteo should probably be at her apartment scolding her with that funny tone of his.
But angry Matteo was no joke.
She picked herself from the floor, deciding to take a shower and sleep. She was suddenly tired. I'm so tired.
As soon as she turned, she heard the front door open and then came in the guard with a tray of food in his hands.
What? Do I look that hungry? Laurel asked herself as she glared at the bodyguard.
The guard looked shocked to see her. He wasn't expecting to see the little miss feisty at the entrance door. Was she trying to escape?
Her eyes were red, her lips red from probably too much biting, her forehead had worried lines marring them and ….oh, she is sulking.
"Little Miss..." The guard started only to be met with an angry face. "Boss Lucas asked me to deliver this to you."
Then it dawned on Laurel. "Did he also ask you to deliver sanitary pads to me? Do you know how embarrassed I am? Do I look like a bleeding toy to you?"
Wow...The guard gasped. She does ask a lot of questions…. He frowned, looking for a way to escape.
Laurel was getting annoyed at the stone faced guard.
"Miss Laurel. I only followed Boss Lucas' instructions." He quickly said, shoving the tray in her hands and slipping out before Laurel could say Jack.
That slimy bastard! Laurel fumed. Taking a good look at the tray, Laurel's anger dissipated. It looks heavenly and delicious.
She shrugged, making her way back to the room. She might grow so fat if she was given food to eat like this every day.
And she needed to take her bath so badly!
…..
Lucas arrived at the location Silas had texted to him a few minutes back. That woman was driving him crazy.
Although he related with his crew, they have never seen him laugh the way he did with Laurel. There were boundaries. They never push his buttons but she did. They never disobeyed but she did. Who knows what she'll do when she sees that piece of sanitary among the package.
He had gotten it after a second thought, although he missed her reaction. That fluttering and redness on the tip of her ears gave her calm demeanor away. It did every time.
His lips quivered with a smile. A knock to his window almost startled him and he wiped the smile off his face. He pressed a button and the glass slowly went down.
It was Silas Castilo. Lucas allowed the small smile to perch on his face again.
He opened the car door, and was met with Silas embrace.
"Hey." Lucas patted his back in respect. "You've been missed, brother."
"I know." Silas patted back.
Lucas pulled back to look at his friend and brother. "How is Mexico?"
"Where I caught that fool?" Silas shook his head. "Not cool."
Lucas' eyes twinkled with mischief. "You are never happy to leave this town." Then his eyes held gratitude. "Thank you."
Silas nodded, grimacing. "You are my brother. I would never allow a traitor to pull you down." He patted Lucas back. "Found all the information on Luis' girlfriend?"
Lucas scoffed. "Silas, you've got it all wrong. Laurel is Luis's colleague, not girlfriend."
"Because every time I call him, all I hear about is Laurel this and Laurel that…"
'Oh..." Lucas shook his head in amusement. Silas had totally misunderstood their relationship. "She walked in on me killing the traitor."
Silas grimaced. "Did she scream?"
Lucas feigned a surprised look. He gasped. "How did you know?"
"Did she call you a murderer?" Silas asked again.
"You weren't there so how did you know she called me that?"
Silas couldn't hold the laughter in as he and Lucas laughed until their stomach hurt.
"You know, I've been in that situation before. Do you remember Anya?" Silas asked.
Lucas nodded. "The pretty girl who vowed never to let you go? Yeah, I can never forget her."
Silas sighed. "She walked in on me, practicing a kill on Luis. She ran out in fear, and then came in few minutes later while I was roasting a fucking pig. She thought it was Luis."
Lucas chuckled. "You didn't stop her from having a heart attack?"
"She broke up with me and vowed never to come back to me again." Silas whispered like he was in pain.
"I am so sorry."
Silas shrugged him off. "It happened. I wasn't surprised about this lady… If she is pretty, don't let her go."
Lucas smirked as his friend started walking towards the building. They've spent enough time outside.
He wasn't planning to let her go.
