Chapter 4

After Sophie gave up the ghost, she woke up in the house she lived with her parents when she was 17.

The first thing that came to her mind was the last words she muttered before she gave up the ghost.

"Some good men, some bad men live in a world of love and hate. Till waters of the great ocean splashes, I'll get it right ".

She could vividly remember everything that happened to her in her past life. Everything, from the betrayal to how she lost her life.

Sophie was speechless for some minutes, she couldn't wrap her head around how cruel the Clara was, and how people could go to any length just to see their desires come to reality.

"How could Clara, how could she be so cruel to me her childhood friend? Where did I go wrong?.. was I wrong to fall in love with Lucas? Is loving now a sin?" She kept on asking herself unanswered questions as tears rolled down her eyes.

"But all thanks to the moon goddess for this second chance, I can now rewrite my past and never allow the same mistake to repeat itself" says Sophie as she gets out of the to the kitchen to see if she was truly alive or it was the spirit realm.

It was 5:30am in the morning but the clouds was still dark and scattered with colours, Sophie moved slowly to the kitchen while reminiscing with the past.

She was muttering some words underneath her breath as she approached her mom in the kitchen.

"Hey Sophie… you are up already?" says her mom with a smile. "I was trying to beg some cake for breakfast, I had to force myself out of the bed, my hair looks scattered huh? Don't mind it you won't find any strand on the cake I was pretty careful while mixing the flour".

Sophie was still lost in thought as she gazed at her mother with no reply.

"Sophie, why aren't you talking to me? What's wrong you look lost? Her mother dropped the plates she had and walked close to her.

Sophie's mom and dad were very furious with her when they heard about what happened between her and Louis, she was surprised to see her mom in a calm state. The thought kept her guessing as she was trying not to be defensive. As her mom got closer, she became more conscious that she wasn't in her past life.

"Oh mom, I was just thinking about how my 18th birthday will look like, you know I was having mixed feelings mom, I don't know if I should be sad or happy" She lied to her mom to avoid explaining why she was quiet all the while.

"So..phie, you don't have to think too much about it, I know how it feels, I've been there and trust me I understand how it feels" her mom smiles as she pat her on her shoulder.

"But mom, I can't just take my mind off it, it just that, I don't want everyone to expect too much from because I'm turning 18.. I'm still your baby girl, mom"... Her faced became more moody and got closer to hug her mom.

Her mom hugged and pat her in the back and smiled " but you still have to grow up you know.. I'm not expecting anything from you, just become a better woman than I am Sophie."

Sophie left the kitchen to prepare for school but was still lost in thoughts.. even when she lied to her mom to cover the real truth up, she wasn't still herself. She was feeling more disturbed as she regained more memories from her past.

She got into the bathroom and drown herself in the bath filled with water hoping the thoughts disappears, but the more she tries to surpress it the more the it was lingering.

"Some minutes ago I was thanking the goddess for this chance, here I am trying to surpress my thoughts. Will life be ever fair at least for once to me?" The more she tries the more her thoughts became wild.

"I have to get myself prepared, it sucks in here.. it really sucks and I pray Clara, Lucas and Louis ain't in this life because I'm not ready to face them" her voice became louder and she was soliloquising. Her voice echoed to the kitchen but her mom ignored it.

" I hope she doesn't think too much about it, 18 isn't a big deal, I really hope she was truthful with what she said" said her mom as she continued with her baking.

Lucas on this end was unsure of what she felt for Sophie. They've been friends for a long time and he had never for one day seen Sophie in a romantic way.

"What really changed?" Lucas asked himself as he was dressing himself up for school.

"When did her face started glowing? Or was I blind or something? Why didn't I see the beauty in her all these years?, I must be really bad at making good choices" he smiled but stood for some time to get Sophie off his head.

His eyes ran through all the room as his thoughts conflicted. "What am I looking for? Oh my school bag. So…phie.." he yelled her name and took a deep breath. " I can't believe she's conflicting my thoughts. I'll make you my mate Sophie, believe that" he went close to the mirror to gaze at himself.

"Be good, Thursday, be good to me"

Lucas picked his school bag and left the room.

Clara was combing her hair as the Luna thought flashed her mind. Lucas told her he'll become the next alpha while they were chit chatting during break in school.

" Becoming the next Luna is almost a reality, but I don't think Lucas has a thing for me.. he doesn't even flirt with me. I've tried to but he just looks unbothered"
