Chapter 5
The Missing Luna
A desperate roar filled the room, shaking the windows and the building’s foundation. “Where’s my mate?” Alpha Mason Kane roared.
“My apologies Alpha.” Second Gamma Brown trembled on his knees in front of his furious Alpha. “She went to the dressing room to try on some clothes. I checked the rooms, no one was there. No one was in the area. There was only one way in and one way out. I swear.” He told his Alpha.
“Then where is my Luna?!” Mason gritted, towering over his soon to be dead Gamma.
“Mason, you need to calm down.” Aden, his Beta told him.
“Do NOT tell me to calm down.” He glared at his Beta. “It’s not your mate that’s missing.”
“You need to stay calm if you are going to find your mate,” Aden told him. “If you lose your shit, you won’t be able to think properly.”
Mason stopped and took a deep cleansing breath. “We don’t need her,” Jake growled. “Now is your chance to reject her, let her go. She probably found her TRUE mate and decided to be with him.” Jake encouraged his human.
“NO! I will NOT be rejecting or letting Sara go,” Mason snarled back at his wolf. “She is OUR mate and Luna.”
“Wrong! She’s YOUR mate and Luna,” Jake growled at his human. “I NEVER wanted her as my mate or Luna. I wanted our Moon Fated Goddess given mate, but YOU wanted that useless she-wolf for a mate. She can’t even give us pups!”
“That she-wolf you wanted was not worthy of being our Luna. She was weak, too young and I didn’t even love her.” Mason gritted.
“You didn’t even give her chance! She was our gift from the Goddess; you do NOT turn away a gift from the Goddess.” Jake snarled.
“You need to shut up!” Mason snapped.
“Fine! You are on your own. Do NOT call on me for help if it has nothing to do with our pack.” Jake told him and then disappeared back into the depths of Mason’s mind.
“Dammitt, fuqin’ mutt.” Mason yelled. “Call Alpha Vega Lutz of the Elite Moon pack, tell him I’ll pay whatever they want. I want my mate found and back in my arms.” he said rubbing his face.
“I already put the call in, he’s sending his Elite General, who has the best team. He needs information on Sara, her family, friends, and her schedule. Whatever we can get them.” Aden told him. “They’ll be here in three days.”
“Three days?! No, I want them here tomorrow! Send the pack jet to them or charter a jet.” Mason ordered.
“That’s going to cost another 100K or more.” Aden sighed heavily.
“Then spend whatever we need to spend to get them here tomorrow!” He gritted.
“Mason...” Aden started to say but was interrupted.
“Get. Them. Here. Tomorrow.” He gritted out slowly punctuating each word.
“I’ll call again but there’s no guarantee they’ll be able to get here tomorrow.”
“Triple their fee!”
“You’re going to bankrupt the pack!” Aden yelled, “she’s not worth that amount of money! She’s not even your TRUE mate.” Aden finally told his Alpha how he felt.
“YES, SHE IS!” Mason yelled.
“What is going on in here?” Former Alpha Byron Kane and Mason’s father asked walking into his son’s office followed by Gamma Tarby Blackwell, Beta Aden’s twin brother. “The whole pack house can hear you.”
“He wants to spend whatever we have on getting the Elite Moon Warrior team here tomorrow to find Sara.” Aden informed Byron.
“Son, I know you are worried about Sara, but you need to think of your pack. You have hundreds of wolves to care for.” Byron told his son.
“Aden, please call Alpha Vega and see if it would be possible for his team to arrive tomorrow.” Byron instructed the Beta, “let me know how much the fee will be before you agree to anything.”
“Yes, Alpha.” Aden responded.
“Aden,” Mason called out, “you’ll refer to Sara as Luna Sara.” He glared at his Beta.
“My apologies, Alpha Mason.” Aden bowed and walked out to make the phone call.
BETA ADEN’S OFFICE
“Alpha Vega, this is Beta Aden Blackwell of the Blue Mountain pack.”
“Ah yes,” Vega greeted, “what can I do for you young Beta.” He smiled; he knew why Aden was calling.
“I know it’s short notice and may not be possible, but I must ask.” Aden started.
“Mmmm...” Vega quietly responded.
Aden sighed deeply. “Would it be possible for your team to arrive tomorrow?” he asked a little timidly.
Little did Aden know that his little sister was sitting with Vega listening to the entire conversation. She was trying to keep from laughing at her brother. “Well, I’m not sure,” Vega said. “I would need to check with General Fyer.” He chuckled to himself at the faces that his daughter was making. “General Fyer,” he interrupted her silly faces, “do you think you and your team can be ready and be at Blue Mountain tomorrow?” he asked, putting her on the spot making her glare at him.
“The problem with that is our travel time,” she reminded him rolling her eyes.
“Oh, I’ve been authorized to charter a private jet to transport you and your team immediately.”
“Uh-huh, a private jet?” She questioned. She didn’t like flying at all.
“Yes,” Vega quickly answered. “I’ll send you the information on where to send the plane to pick up the team.” He told Aden, as Saf glared at her dad.
“Thank you,” Aden breathed a sigh of relief. “I will contact the charter company in your area and have them on standby.” Aden said as his phone dinged containing the location on where to have the plane meet Saf’s team. “Again, thank you. You have no idea how important this is to our Alpha.”
“I think I can imagine the importance.” Vega stated.
“Yes, well, I still need the information on Luna Sara.” Safyer reminded him.
“I don’t see why that is important.” Aden huffed. He didn’t like the idea of a stranger having information on his Luna, even though he didn’t like her. Especially now that any little thing could be used against her.
“If you want MY Elite Warriors to find her then we need to know everything about her, her movements, friends, where she liked to go, etc.” Safyer told him, “you can’t expect us to walk in and automatically know where she is. You want us to just show up and poof! We know where she is.” She huffed. “Contrary to what you may believe, it doesn’t work that way.” She snorted. “We still have to investigate. If you don’t want to send the information then, sorry, but we can’t help you.” She shrugged with a bored tone. Vega just shook his head. He knew his daughter was just being a bitch with Aden.
“Fine,” Aden relented, “where do I send the information?” He asked.
“Send it to Alpha Vega’s email so he can print it out for me and my team.” She instructed.
Vega checked his email, “thank you, Beta.” He said. “My team will be at the airport in two hours. They need time to pack and let their mates know that they are leaving. There is no arguing over that.” He stated.
“I will let Alpha Mason know,” Aden told him, “who will be our point of contact?”
“General Fyer will be, she will be in charge of the case.” Said Vega. “When General Fyer is not available you will speak with Lt. Austin or Lt. Rollins.”
“Oh,” was Aden’s response.
