Chapter 2

Margareth Pov

With the hurt lingering in my chest, I ran and got out of the castle. By the time, Xavier reached and stopped me as he confirmed, “I have a mistress because of you. Don’t you realize your mistakes??”

The sentences uttered made my heart bleeding even more. I then responded, “What do you mean by the mistakes?? I always understand you, Xav. Additionally, I make the time for you although I’m super busy with the yearly party. I feel that I have done nothing wrong. It must be me who asks about your wrong doing now.”

Being forced to explain, the Alpha had no choice, so he gulped and stated, “All right, let me be honest to you. I get tired of you, Margie. You are so busy that you could not be attentive to my needs. That’s why I feel lonely.”

The answer uttered successfully made the wound in my heart more swelled. However, I crossed the bridge when he came to it, “Oh Gosh! Don’t you see that I’ve been quite busy recently, Xavier?? I have a lot on my plate, regarding the upcoming yearly party since our pack is the host.”

Xavier stared at me for a while. Through his glance, I could notice that he had no empathy towards my condition. Thus, he insisted, “Those things are not the only cause why you keep distant from me mostly, Margie. Whenever I had finished my tasks, I always tried to spend some time with you, but you never saw or even respected my efforts. You tended to play it by ear. Didn’t you notice that you have slightly abandoned me, as your mate?? It is not a surprise if I have a mistress.”

In consequence, I immediately frowned after listening to his utterance. In my mind, I protested, “After he said that he was bored since I kept busy preparing the party, he now made me feel guilty by driving me up the wall through the condition of why he has a mistress. Is this your true colors that you have hidden for two years, Xavier??”

As I sighed for a moment, I reminded myself, “You’d better rack your brains of what you have done, Alpha. We are going to have a yearly party, and many other packs will attend. Your impulsive deeds may affect our pack reputation.”

“F*ck that reputation! I don’t care about it! This is about how I can be happy, even without you who are replaced by Selena, my mistress.” Xavier blurted. Those words made another wound in my heart.

“Then, reject me after the party ends!” I dared. I could be tolerant of simple flaws, but seeing him make out with another woman was too much to handle for me. It was done as if he had underestimated my loyalty and commitment to this marriage.

After listening to my suggestion, Xavier didn’t reply or even ask why I wanted him to do so. Instead, he stared at me coldly with his frowning forehead. “Reject you?? Never! I can have a mistress or mistresses, but you will be the Luna of the pack, still!”

“That’s unfair! I can’t stand that way, Xavier‼” I tried to confront him.

“Geez‼” He blurted as he stepped closer to me and swayed his right hand, aiming a slap on my face.

Otherwise, as his right palm almost touched my left cheek, his sudden action was stopped by a stranger whom I never met or saw before. “Is this how you treat your woman?? Seriously, you are such a red flag guy!” He uttered.

“Who the h*ll are you?? Don’t involve yourself in somebody’s business, dude!” Xavier released his hand rudely from the stranger’s grip.

“First of all, I’m truly sorry if I accidentally bothered your personal matters this time, but I believe that you can solve your problems in a good term, instead of being too harsh towards a woman. I can never tolerate that kind of thing.” The tall and sophisticated figure explained the reasons why he was standing between the fighting couple.

“But, this problem has no relation with you, dude. Can you please go away?? I know what I need to do since this is personal for me and her.” Xavier demanded

At that time, Bastian exchanged his glance at Margareth and Xavier. Through his amber orbs, it was described that he was worried that Xavier would treat the woman worse than before. Otherwise, he fixed his shirt sleeves in turns and stated, “All right, then, but I’ll keep my eyes on both of you from afar. Whenever you dare to harm her, I’ll make sure that you will take the consequences.”

“What a useless man‼” Xavier swore as he stared at Bastian madly and stormed off, leaving Margareth who was startled and about to say a few words. Nonetheless, as Xavier walked farther, she held her tongue.

“Are you okay?” Bastian standing next to Margareth asked as he observed the Luna carefully. He attempted to ensure that the woman was not hurt physically.

“Not really, mentally,” Margareth said with her exasperated mimic.

“Well, you should be bolder if he treats you worse for another chance,” Bastian advised.

The woman with her braided brown hair tried to streak a little smile on her oval face whenever she heard the advice. However, she immediately changed the topic, “Anyway, my name is Margareth. You can call me Margie.”

Along with the short introduction, she lent a hand, offering the stranger to have a formal handshake. Looking at the action, Bastian reacted by grabbing the slim beautiful hand gently and uttered, “I’m Bastian. Nice to meet you, Margie.”

Margareth smiled in her friendly way and nodded. Through her beautiful orbs, it was caught that she was glad to meet a new person. She also got curious about who her new friend really was, but she decided not to be obvious in order to keep her cool. Then, she said, “Ehm, are you new here? I ask since I have noticed several faces in this area.”

Without a pause or let the woman wait for the answer, Bastian replied, “No. I live near here, but I’ve just been back from my business trip.”

“All right,” The sophisticated woman nodded once she acknowledged the truth. At the same point, she remembered that she had delayed her business for the annual party. Otherwise, she planned to wave goodbye. Before it occurred, she reminded me, “I hope that you can attend the annual party next week, Bastian. My pack members will be happy to see and know you.”

With the same enthusiasm in his glance, Bastian responded, “Sure. I’ll be there, Margie. Don’t worry.”

“Thank you, then. By the way, I gotta go now. I have some delayed important businesses.” Margareth claimed.

Understanding the situation, Bastian let the woman go. As he stared closely at the luna’s back, Clements, his wolf profounded, “It is a good chance for you to claim her soon, Bastian.”

Bastian with his frowning forehead was not in a mood to debate with his wolf, so he ceased, “Let’s look for a bolt from the blue, Clem.”
