Cecilia looked at him with confusion. "Wasn't he just asking me for request earlier? Why is he suddenly ignoring me?"

"Yeah, there are two women who have been waiting at your door for a while now. Hurry back," the landlady said over the phone.

"Okay, thank you. I'll be back quickly," she replied and ended the call.

She straightened her dress and continued walking back home. When she returned from America, her stepmother and stepsister had refused to let her live with them in her father's mansion. Since then, Cecilia had been living alone in a low-class area peacefully for years. It was a quiet place where no one bothered her and she went unnoticed.

After walking a distance from the street, Cecilia soon arrived at her house's door. Before she could reach home from the elevator, she saw two extremely glamorous women standing in front of her house.

One of them was wearing a new Chanel designer dress, and the other was carrying the latest Gucci bag. It was clear that they were wealthy and didn't belong in this humble neighborhood.

It was really them! Her stepmother, Mrs. Linda, and stepsister, Carina Carter.

Hooking her lips into a mocking smirk, Cecilia's eyes flashed a trace of sarcasm as she took a lazy step towards the two women.

"Wow, what an unexpected guest," she said with a smile. Her stepmother, Mrs. Linda, was the first to turn her head in her direction. Upon seeing her, Mrs. Linda slapped Cecilia with disdain.

"You never fail to bring disgrace to the Carter family wherever you go! Look at you! You're not even as good as a beggar on the street! And you dare to show your unlucky face at that audition!" Mrs. Linda spat.

Cecilia's hair was messy, and there were black particles on her pants and clothes.

"Wasn't she even worse than a beggar?" Carina joined in.

Despite their hurtful words, Cecilia remained unfazed. She spat blood and confronted her stepmother, pulling out her phone. "I wonder what the general public will say if they find out that mighty Carina Carter and her manager, Mrs. Linda Carter, are threatening an upcoming Actress like me," she said, attempting to take their photos.

"You stinky girl, what did you say, you—" Before Mrs. Linda could finish speaking, she was interrupted by Carina.

"Mom, don't get mad at this country bastard, don't forget that we're here to get her Married" Hearing Carina's reminder, Mrs. Linda's face softened a bit, and she said in a alms-like tone; "Cecilia, our Carter family doesn't treat you harshly, I came today to arrange a very good marriage for you" The scheming woman said cunningly

"Oh?" Cecilia lightly raised her eyebrows, "Arrange a nice marriage for me? When did you guys become so kind?"

"Of course! You're a country girl who can marry into the prestigious Ramos family. Aren't you lucky? If you want my approval, you should kneel down and show us respect!" Carina said arrogantly.

Cecilia looked at her sister and stepmother with raised eyebrows. "The Ramos family? The same Ramos family? Who could they be referring to? Seth or Japheth? I know that this mother-daughter duo have something on their mind before thinking of coming to me of all people."

"Bad luck? Thanks, sis. Hahaha, here you are hurling words at me as if you're happy that I came to the audition, and now I should thank you for trying to ruin my life?" Cecilia asked and looked at Carina with a mocking expression.

"Do you still think I'm a naive and ignorant person? The Ramos family is the owner of Immortal Entertainment, the label you desperately wanted to get signed to. Why don't you use this opportunity to join the label freely?" she asked.

Carina became nervous. She had thought of using her sister to gain entry into Immortal Entertainment, but it seems that Cecilia is more clever than she had imagined.

Cecilia was really amused by Mrs., Linda's words, She wanted to push her into a sea of swords and flames, but she acted as if he wanted to give her a hand; and her father, after her mother died, he treated her worse than a dog.

Now that he had used her, he still remembered her ugly daughter. How ridiculous!

"You have to marry even if you don't want to! Otherwise, I—" Mrs Linda's threat was interrupted by Cecilia's expressionless face.

"You – what? Which of the Ramos family are you marrying me off to? And why should I obey you when you even treat me like shit? She asked suddenly.

Her stepmother smiled maliciously and face Cecilia, "Let me be frank with you, you father is also in support of this, and you are going to marry the scary president of Immortal entertainment Japheth Ramos! And that's final! She ordered expecting Cecilia to cringe or shake in fear but the expression she pulled shocked her.

"But how did you two get this Marriage proposal? I mean how did you know he wants to marry someone? Cecelia suddenly asked

"His grandmother at the states sent me a message that she wants my daughter to marry her grandchild" Mrs Astrid said

Cecilia smirked "You want me to marry Japheth Ramos because he had a daughter and your Carina cannot marry a man with daughter right? She asked making them shake, they had thought she didn't know anything about the President of Immortal entertainment and how she got to know the fact that they were avoiding is shocking.

Carina quickly thought of a way to save the situation "and so what? Did you expect me to be taking care of someone else's child with this beautiful face of mine? I still have a very long way to go in the film industry, think of yourself too, if you marry him, you will also get signed there" she explained

Cecilia can't manage the laugher in her mouth "If they know what happened to me today, they will be on their toes begging me by now, but let me play along to their truancy" she thought

"Whatever, who cares about your progress in the film industry? Are you the only one to get promoted and and had lots of ways to go? You can't babysit a child so should I? Whatever you might say.... I am not marrying him that's final! She yelled at the mother daughter, they were shocked.

She took out her keys from her bag and made to open the door, but she stopped and looked at Carina...."Thank you! Thank you for taking away what I don't need, I mean Nathaniel, I hope you have a very good time with him" She said and opened the door and shut it to their faces.
