Chapter Three

SIX YEARS EARLIER

Grey's POV

"What are you talking about? How can you insist that I get married to her!" I thundered.

The men were dismissed as I vented out my anger, apparently, my father was trying to force me to get married to some girl I didn't love or even like just because she was my mate.

"She's your mate." Dad retorted.

"I don't care! I've lived the last two and a half decades of my life being without a mate, why is she surfacing just now that I'm in love with someone else? I'll marry the woman I love and not her!" I insisted.

"Speak sense to your son Carla." Dad begged my Mom.

"Grey, listen to your father."

"There's no way I'm getting married to that loose whore! She approached me intentionally and did all these so she'll get my money, my wealth!" I argued.

"What is wrong with you? She's your mate Grey, your mate!"

"I don't care Dad, I'm in love with Bernadette and it's her or no one!"

"Then you'll not be the alpha of this pack neither will you inherit my company as well."

"What!" I exclaimed.

"You can only be the alpha if your mate is the Luna and I won't let that girl be the Luna of my pack, do you understand? And only the alpha can run thr Claremont Company, so you're left with no choice than to get married to your mate." Dad spat, angrily.

I laughed sarcastically.

"You can't be serious right? Bernadette and I love each other and this new girl? I don't even know her and-"

"Get to know her because I will rather have your cousin take over the pack and company than make you the head without your mate by your side." Dad interjected.

"You wouldn't dare Dad, we built the company together, my sweat and blood and-"

"Then do what's right! It's either your rightful possessions or the woman you claim to love, you have a choice son." Dad said, dismissively and walked out of the room.

I threw my hands in the air, exasperatedly.

"Mom, he wouldn't dare to do such, will he?" I asked.

"How about we don't find out? Do as your father says Grey please, I beg of you. We both know you're both stubborn but he's more dangerous than you think he is, and by no means should Bryan get hold of the company, you know the drill." Mom advised.

I watched as she left the room as well and I was angry beyond words. I went out of the house, room my car and just drove randomly, trying to pour out my frustrations somewhere. I don't know how but Dad communicated with my wolf recently and discovered that I had found my mate, it was personal but since he was alpha and had his rituals done, his wolf suppressed mine into revealing it to him, a perk of being alpha and now he's insisting that I get married to her.

There was no way I would get married to the whore I had a one night stand with, no fucking way but now it was my birthright or the woman I love and this made me despise my mate even more. I went off the grid for three days, trying to figure out the best option for me and I realized I had no choice, I had to hurt the woman I love to keep my right.

Of course I got married to my mate, she was happy, excited and definitely stupid but I had plans for her, huge one. We had a great wedding, said our vows, went to the pack, performed the rites and it was left with just us.

"Thank you, for loving me." She whispered to my ears on the night of our wedding.

"You have no idea what I have in store for you my love, honestly, you don't." I assured her.

***************PRESENTLY

"Do you think this dress will look good on me?" Bernadette asked me as she shew a really beautiful dress to me.

I chuckled and nodded.

"You'll make any dress look good Berna, you're the beauty itself." I commented.

She blushed and playfully slapped my shoulders.

"I want to stand out among the crowd, the new CEO is your business associate isn't it? I want to be presentable so he'll know that his partner doesn't just have high taste in business but also in women." She joked.

I laughed softly.

"As long as it's you, no man can ever resist." I flirted.

"We have about an two hours left so hurry up with the preparations, I know you'll take almost that amount of time to get ready, I don't want to be late, we shouldn't be." I added.

"Relax alpha, don't rush this beautiful Luna of yours." She teased.

I laughed and stared at her beautiful body as she began to change her dress, I walked up to her and planted wet kisses on her back.

"I won't get ready in five hours if you're going to be like this." She moaned.

I growled, wanting to take her right there but decided against it.

"Okay, I'll let you be." I grudgingly agreed.

She chuckled and I went to my own dressing room and got ready, I went downstairs to tie some last minutes loose ends and almost two hours later, she came downstairs as well, looking as beautiful as ever, reminding me of one person who looked just like her but slightly better. I complimented her and we went outside, got into the car and went straight to the venue for the event. The red carpet was filled with reporters and all, we got in, mingled with people and all that.

I discovered she wasn't beside me anymore and began to look for her, saw her from afar talking to someone I didn't recognize and some other lady whose face was not visible from where I stood, I approached them, discovered she was being insulted and decided to teach the rude lady a lesson only to be met by the greatest shock of my life.

Her. She was there.

"Vada?" I blurted, shocked to the core.

She chuckled softly and it weirdly sounded musical to my hearing.

"Hello Grey or should I say Mr. Grey Claremont?" She greeted, politely.

She stretched out her hand and I was too stunned to shake her hands, I never thought I'd set eyes on her ever again.

"You? How are you here? How did-" I stuttered, not knowing the right words to say.

She laughed softly and waved her hands like it was nothing.

"I'm happy to see you too." She replied.

There was a twinkle in her eye, I looked at her from head to toe and it was screaming wealth and luxury, her red dress slightly revealed her cleavage and hugged her body tightly, showing off her perfect curve, I was never lost for words before as I was at the moment.

"How are you here, I thought you.."

"Died? Of course I didn't, though you sent someone after me to finish the job but I survived, amazing right?" She inputted, smiling widely.

"But you-"

"I'm glowing? I know, it's the rejection." She interrupted.

I gulped in nervously and breathed shakily, Bernadette was also shocked as well but not as shocked as I was, this was the last thing I was expecting, from the corner of my eye, I saw someone mounting the podium and began to address the crowd, calling for order but this was more important at the moment.

Beautiful was an understatement for what Nevada looked but a certain memory flashed across my eye and I scowled.

"What are you doing here?" I asked, suddenly becoming contemptuous.

"And I present to you the CEO of the Lewiston Empire, Nevada Lewiston." I heard the announcer say, but all fell to deaf ears, I wasn't interested.

"That's my cue." She revealed, blew me a kiss and walked up to the podium. I was confused.

"What's she doing there?".I asked no one.in particular.

"She's the CEO."
