Chapter 5 Unexpected Encounter

Hearing the noise, Oliver, who had been leaning against the railing facing outward, slowly turned around.

He saw Astrid in a snow-white gown, her face looking especially beautiful after touching up her makeup.

Astrid quickly pulled at the slit of her dress to block the view from outside, spotting Silas inside.

She asked in surprise, "Oliver, you've been here this whole time?"

Actually, Oliver had already left, but thinking about the endless socializing outside, and then thinking about the delicate Astrid touching up her makeup inside, he suddenly couldn't make himself leave and turned back.

"I missed you," Oliver said smoothly, touching his nose.

Watching his evasive eyes and unconscious gesture, Astrid sneered inwardly.

Before, his sweet words always made her heart flutter. Now she realized that lying through his teeth was just his nature.

Fortunately, it wasn't too late to find out.

Astrid grumbled internally while keeping a smile on her face, calmly walking to his side. "Let's go. People at the banquet will start worrying if they can't find you."

They needed to leave quickly, or it would be bad if he ran into Silas coming out of the bathroom.

After speaking, Astrid took two steps, then suddenly felt someone grab her wrist. Her whole body fell into Oliver's arms, and she couldn't help but frown.

Now, whenever she got close to Oliver, she felt uncomfortable all over.

"What's wrong?" Oliver noticed the change in her expression.

"Just talk, don't grab me," Astrid pushed him away, standing to the side, pretending to be annoyed to hide her disgust.

"You're angry already?" Oliver was a bit surprised.

"See for yourself!" Astrid raised her wrist, showing him the reddened skin.

Oliver's expression changed slightly. He knew she was delicate, but didn't expect her to be this delicate. No wonder she never let him touch her; he thought she was just playing hard to get to raise her value.

Looking at it this way, his waiting was worth it. He just hoped he could soon take a bite of this delicate flower.

"My mistake," Oliver said without hesitation, holding her wrist much more gently this time. "Don't be angry anymore, okay?"

As Oliver spoke, he noticed she wasn't wearing anything around her neck. He asked unconsciously, "Why aren't you wearing a necklace? Don't you love pink diamonds the most?"

Astrid's mind was full of thoughts about leaving this troublesome place quickly. Silas could come out at any moment.

Seeing her serious expression, Oliver thought she felt guilty and couldn't help but step forward, pulling her into his arms. "I was just asking casually. Even if you don't wear anything, you're still beautiful as a fairy."

As Oliver spoke, his lips kept getting closer.

As Oliver's breath approached, Astrid instinctively dodged.

Oliver thought she was being shy and pursued her again.

Shameless bastard. She really wanted to expose his true face right then and there.

Astrid consoled herself internally. She didn't have evidence yet to ruin him completely. She had to wait a bit longer.

"Don't do this, we're in public," Astrid reminded him in a low voice.

"It's fine, this place is pretty secluded. People don't usually come here," Oliver replied dismissively.

He'd done similar things before. He'd been wanting to taste her for a while now, and she always dodged and avoided him like this, always leaving him unsatisfied.

After bragging to his friends, his desire to sleep with her grew stronger and stronger.

"Oliver!" Astrid didn't expect the Montgomery family to be so shameless, regardless of the occasion.

As she spoke, she tried hard to break free from Oliver's grip, but unexpectedly, his arms around her only tightened.

Usually, he would give in to her, but today he didn't seem afraid of making her angry at all.

"If you keep this up, I'm really going to get angry!"

Astrid felt Oliver's hands starting to wander, moving across her back through the silk of her dress, giving her goosebumps.

Just as she was about to lift her leg and stomp on him with her high heel, the bathroom door opened without warning.

A loud bang made Astrid quickly turn around with her back to the door.

Oliver didn't expect to run into the usually stern-faced Silas at such a moment, and was too nervous to know what to do.

"Uncle Silas." Oliver forced an unnatural smile on his face, his hot blood instantly cooling. He prayed in his mind that Silas hadn't seen anything.

Silas's indifferent gaze swept over the graceful figure with her back turned, then landed on Oliver.

Looking at his disheveled collar, he said mockingly, "No matter how desperate you are, you should still consider the occasion."

Hearing this, Astrid's spine went rigid.

When he was in the bathroom just now, did he consider the occasion? What was he pretending to be so high and mighty about?

For some reason, she felt a pair of eyes on her back, like a branding iron about to burn a hole through her. She could only stand still, pretending not to hear.

"Uncle Silas." Oliver was intimidated by Silas's presence, his voice somewhat anxious. "If you want to criticize me, fine, but don't talk about my girlfriend; she gets embarrassed easily."

Seeing him put on this act, Silas suddenly felt disgusted, and his tone grew heavier. "What? Am I wrong?"

"It's my fault, I shouldn't have. Uncle Silas, you're so busy, please go ahead." Oliver knew Silas was not someone to mess with and didn't dare think too much.

Although they weren't far apart in age, he had always lived in Silas's shadow and naturally didn't dare to talk back.

Silas started walking out. As he passed the figure in the white dress, his steps paused slightly, but only for a moment before he resumed his pace.

Watching Silas walk ahead, Astrid breathed a quiet sigh of relief. Hearing footsteps approaching from behind, she quickly followed behind Silas like she'd seen a ghost and walked out.

Oliver had originally wanted to wait until Silas left to get cozy with Astrid again, but didn't expect her to leave, too.

Oliver followed behind in frustration, his mind full of disappointment at not getting what he wanted.

He completely forgot to wonder why Silas had come out of the women's bathroom.
