Chapter 7 Hidden Truths

Before long, Silas's man stopped at the door of a lounge.

Astrid looked at him questioningly.

"Mr. Montgomery is waiting for you inside."

After saying that, the man opened the door, watched Astrid enter the room, and closed the door behind her. The room instantly went dark.

What a thoughtful employee, Astrid cursed inwardly.

After her eyes adjusted for a moment, she could make out the scene inside.

The curtains weren't drawn, the lights weren't on, and a figure sat on the sofa, watching her with complete composure.

Astrid was about to ask someone to turn on the lights when she realized it was Silas, eccentric and unpredictable.

Forget it, she couldn't boss Silas around, or who knows what might happen.

With this thought, her eyes began searching around the room.

"Come here." Silas's rich voice rang out.

Astrid paused slightly, about to turn around, when her hand was suddenly grabbed. Before she could react, she had fallen into Silas's arms, sitting on his lap.

His whole body gave off a crisp, clean scent. In the dim room, the air instantly became charged.

"What are you doing?" Astrid froze, startled by the sudden move. She pushed against Silas's hand, trying to get up.

"What do you want to do?" Silas's low voice came by her ear, vibrating her eardrum, making her face flush and her heart race.

"I was going to turn on the lights." Astrid shot back. "If people saw the great Mr. Montgomery acting like a complete horndog in private, I wonder how many would laugh their heads off."

She didn't know why all those people worshipped him anyway.

Silas chuckled softly.

"You say that as if you don't like me acting like a horndog." Silas did not attempt to hide it, tearing away Astrid's pretense of reserve.

"Want me to remind you who couldn't stop asking for more that night?" As Silas spoke, his lips moved closer.

The words in Astrid's throat were blocked, and she instinctively tried to push him away.

Silas started tentatively, but quickly got comfortable with the territory, then swept her up without restraint, leaving Astrid completely unable to resist.

Silas kissed her breathless, her breathing becoming irregular.

The next moment, Silas held her tighter. His well-defined hand had only been holding her at first, but as she kept twisting her body, he had to use more and more force, until, naturally, his hand began roaming over her body.

From top to bottom, her curved chest, her soft waist, and lower, her private area, through a thin layer of fabric.

With each movement of his hand, another current ran through Astrid's body. Finally, unable to take it anymore, she reached out and pinched him.

Silas winced and bit down on her lip.

Astrid felt the pain and let out a muffled groan, tasting something metallic and sweet.

"Why were you hugging and touching Oliver as soon as you came out?" Silas finally released her, licked the corner of his mouth, and asked in a husky voice.

Astrid quickly got off him, sat on the other side of the sofa, straightened her dress, and answered in a hoarse but somewhat distant voice, "He's my boyfriend. What's wrong with me hugging and touching him?"

Even as she said this, Astrid keenly sensed that his question was too domineering, as if he were her real boyfriend, jealous and competing for favor.

How could that be possible? He was the high and mighty Silas, who had always only had women throwing themselves at him, to be dismissed with contempt.

As soon as she finished speaking, the room's lights came on.

Astrid pushed away the strange thoughts at the bottom of her heart. Dazzled by the light, she felt something extra beside her.

"Put it on."

"What?" Astrid looked at an exquisite box, not immediately understanding.

The hand in front of her waved.

Astrid knew he was losing patience. Afraid of a repeat of what just happened, she had no choice but to take it.

Opening it, she found a brand new pair of lace panties, black, identical to the ones he had torn.

"How did you know I liked this brand?" She asked in surprise.

"Jack's sister also likes this brand," Silas answered casually.

Astrid held the panties in her hand, feeling somewhat conflicted.

No matter how gentlemanly he acted, it couldn't hide the fact that he was a scoundrel.

"Where should I change?"

"Right here." Silas's voice carried a hint of command.

Astrid turned around in disbelief to see him with one hand draped over the sofa back, legs naturally bent, his whole body lazily looking back at her.

Scenes of their entanglement began replaying in her mind.

"What?" Astrid's face flushed unnaturally.

Silas looked at her without speaking.

The more he acted this way, the more pressure Astrid felt.

Finally, under his gaze, she had no choice but to turn her back, feeling somewhat humiliated and somewhat shy, and change into the new panties he had bought.

Astrid quickly changed and strode toward the door. Her hand was on the handle, about to open the door and leave, when she heard familiar voices outside.

"Oliver, don't be so anxious. Astrid could come back any time." Isabella's cloying voice was full of playing hard to get.

"She doesn't know where I am. It's fine if she comes back." Oliver had none of the flattery he'd shown her earlier.

"Let's make this quick."

"No." Isabella was somewhat displeased. "You only care about Astrid's feelings, about your own experience, and don't care about me at all. I don't want to."

Their voices got closer and closer, almost reaching the door. Astrid was both angry and anxious, and suddenly walked back.

"Quick, hide with me." Astrid wanted to get evidence of Oliver's betrayal first, so she could break off their engagement with the family elders.

As she spoke, she grabbed Silas's hand and pulled him inside, but after searching around, she found there was no other room here.

The footsteps outside stopped at the door. The sound of the lock turning was unusually clear.

Astrid held her breath, saw the sofa, and suddenly thought of a solution.

"Quick, we can hide behind the sofa."

She pushed Silas behind the sofa, crouched down herself, and held her breath listening to the movement outside.

The sofa wasn't very long. The two of them had to press close together to avoid being discovered by the people outside.

"How have I not cared about your feelings? Haven't you been over the moon every time?" Oliver closed the door, deliberately teasing Isabella.

"It's only been a few days since I touched you, and you're already this eager."

Isabella laughed playfully under his teasing, her voice gradually changing.
