Chapter 4 Chapter 4
Zarlia’s POV
“I saw you crying from upstairs, and i was immediately worried, Stetson muttered gently cuddling my hair
“Please don’t hurt me again” i said softly.
Stetson’s eyes widened in shock,
“Hurt you?” He chirped quickly.
“Yes, see” i responded, showing him my neck where he had bitten.
“I can explain” he hollered, holding my hands and peering sternly into my eyes.
“How about i take you out for dinner” he offered quickly, trying to grasp the opportunity.
“No, i’ll go home now” Zarlia retorted, disentangling herself from him, i could literally hear his heart beating fast as we hugged, i knew what it felt like to be loved, Romero had always made sure of that, but somehow this felt different.
He didn’t have to say it but i felt it, i felt his heart lunging for me.
I loved it, it felt like he could immediately fill in the void from Romero and my alleged Family, but i didn’t want him to have it easy, i wouldn’t just blow off the weird start.

I was about to pack my hair when i saw two matched bite wounds on my neck. The bite had turned to marks on my neck, it felt like it linked me to him, I subconsciously rubbed my fingers around the area and i was stunned.
"It doesent hurt." I mumbled softly, how come, the past days had been hell, i struggled to bath or move my neck freely cause of how much the bite stung, but all of a sudden it didn’t hurt anymore.
“This is strange” i muttered, i loved that it didn’t hurt anymore, but it felt strange, the whole pain seemed to have disappeared rather too suddenly than i had expected.
“What could be his reason for this bite” i queried my mind, who goes around giving stranger hickey on their first meet, a very painful one infact.
I paled in fright immediately i mused on that. "I need to let this heal let the marks disappear," i muttered fetching my first aid box.
I quickly removed a ball of cotton wool and methylated spirit from the first aid box, i didn’t know what i was doing, i just wanted to treat it hopefully it disappeared like it was never there
“Maybe i should give him a listening ear so he explains all these” i thought thought to myself, i could use a bit of explanation.
STETSON’s POV.
Stacy pursed her lips in anger. She’d just witnessed the interaction between me and Zarlia, and only one thought filled her mind. Stetson has found his mate. She spat the words out angrily. After all, I’m always cold to women, and if that girl wasn’t my mate, I would have been attracted to someone by now, especially Stacy, who grew up with me.
“You’ve found your mate?” Stacy turned to me with a sneer as I was about to get into my car.
“How did you get in here?” I frowned. She only chuckled.
“You’ll choose a worthless human over me?” Stacy queried, her voice calm yet firm. It baffled her that my mate was human.
“Get out,” I hollered, my fists clenching, my voice as firm as it could be.
“Stetson, you should be the Alpha ruling the pack now. What are you doing trying to make a human your partner?” Stacy yelled after me.
I shot her a dangerous stare, my eyes flashing a glistening yellow. Stacy quickly got the message.
“Stetson, why don’t you marry me? My father is the Beta. He’d support you and let you return to your throne…” she tried one more time.
“Get out now! You, or the pack. I want none of it. Guards, throw her out and never let her in,” I ordered angrily.
“Just know that I’ll never watch you go to her. You and I are ending up together,” Stacy’s voice echoed in my ears until she was finally dragged away.
My expression didn’t change. I beckoned the driver with my fingers. “Keys,” I muttered, making him jump.
“Sir?” he asked, shocked.
“Give me the keys,” I growled, making him immediately get out of the car.
He fearfully handed me the keys. “The k…keys.”
“Hm. You can leave,” I said, getting into the car, intending to calm my churning mind by driving.
My thoughts drifted to Zarlia. How am I going to get her? “Ugh. So frustrating,” I ruffled my hair and banged the steering wheel in anger.
“She’s afraid of us. Our mate is afraid of us,” Asher, my wolf, said, his sadness vivid in his tone. “We’ve been waiting for her for years. What if she rejects us?” he continued as I started to drive.
“She won’t. She doesn’t know what rejection is. She’s just a human, so she needs time to accept us,” I tried to comfort him, but the words were mostly meant for myself.
“I hope so. Wait! Did you just drive us to her house?” Asher yelled excitedly.
“I think I just did,” I uttered with a low chuckle.
