CHAPTER 8

Once Olivia was fully dressed in her previous outfit, she walked to the couch where Seth placed her phone. She picked it up and began going through it.

Thousands of notifications which included missed calls, text messages, Instagram posts and tweets were flooding in.

“Your divorce announcement made the headlines. Some young women even made a fanclub for you. Things aren't going well for your Ex-husband and his mistress..”

Olivia turned around to find Seth leaning against the door, his eyes fixated on his phone. It was obvious that he was reading all that from his phone.

However, Olivia seemed the least bothered about the news. She already had enough to disappear completely without a trace and no one was gonna find her even if they wanted to.

All she was waiting for was a call from her attorney giving her a go ahead. For two weeks, they both planned and discussed how everything was going to be processed. If her timing was correct, a car should be arriving here any moment from now to drop her off at the airport.

“You're one brave woman..” Seth continued. He leaned off from the door and began walking calmly to her.

“What do you want from me? I have a feeling that our meeting wasn't a coincidence..” Olivia retorted meeting his icy gaze with the same amount of energy.

Seth chuckled softly, he caught the end of her hair trailing it on his finger until it fell back in place. His gaze on her softened and for a millisecond, his gaze fell on her lips.

“You openly announced that you're a single lady and eligible bachelor's should apply..I don't want to waste any time, a lot of men are out there waiting for a chance..”

A knowing look crossed Olivia's face, she tilted her head to the side to stare at him carefully. How bold of him to hit on her.

“Oh well.. that's too sad for you and the rest of the men waiting for a chance..” She responded with a blank expression on her face. He might be good-looking and a ten out of a ten for most ladies but she just left a really toxic marriage and wasn't ready to jump into another relationship.

She walked to the bed where her purse lay, picking it up, a white piece of clothing fell out of it. She reached for it, it's a handkerchief.

A vague image of someone handing her a napkin last night resurfaced. The initials embroidered at the edge caught her attention.

A.A

A soft gasp left her lips. This was the second time someone was giving her a handkerchief of this sort and the same initials on it. This could mean that someone has been watching her every move.

Both counts happened to be when she was down and at her lowest. Who could it be?

She turned around to find Seth staring at her. She cleared her throat and tucked the material into her purse.

“I'll take a pill..just to be on a safe side..” She said meaningfully.

Her words was enough to render Seth speechless and by the time he could find his tongue, Olivia had already left the room to him.

“What do you mean by that? We talked about this all week Mr Miller..”

Olivia fumed impatiently, her attorney just called to inform that her trip has to be postponed for another week since the news from last night was making waves.

“The news has nothing to do with me leaving the country..” She tried to argue back but heard him sigh at the other end.

“Ma'am I promise it's for the best. For the meantime, you have to lay low and avoid the public until everything is sorted out..”

The longer she listened to him, the worse her anger become. She disconnected the call and relaxed her back against the car's seat.

He wanted her to lay low which was almost impossible given her status, she'll easily be recognized wherever she went to unless..

Olivia shut her eyes tightly just by thinking about it alone. She owed her old man an apology for going against him. He warmed her several times but she ignored.

“Only you can save me now Pops..”

She hasn't reached out to him for years because she saw him as an enemy since he didn't support her union with Kevin.

Ryan Reynolds was her only surviving family member and she left him all alone. To be fair, she is the cruel one here.

“Take me to the Reynolds mansion..”

The cab driver met her gaze through the rearview mirror, he instantly confirmed his suspicion. He knew that he had seen her somewhere but just couldn't point out where exactly.

“How much do you need to keep shut about it?” She threw her question to him while her gaze was focused on the window.

She noticed how he has been staring at her every now and then. The last thing she wanted was for the press to find out about her whereabouts, her grandfather could be pulled into this mess.

“Ma.. ma'am?”

Olivia opened her purse and pulled out some cash. She held it out at first before placing it next to her on one of the seats.

“Not a single soul should know about my whereabouts. In fact, you saw nothing..It won't take long to fish you out if you eventually rat my location to anyone”

The cab driver fidgeted from where he was seated, he nodded his head forcefully and the car remained silent once more until the large gates of the Reynolds home came into view.

It's been so long since she has been to this place. A place where she grew up and where she was immensely loved. But she took it all for granted for a man who didn't deserve her love.

This was the farthest a cab can go. She stepped out of the cab and closed the door gently behind her.

“Don't forget what I said..” She reminded, handing the cash to the driver. He gave a nod and accepted the money.

Once the cab left, Olivia turned around to face the gates standing in her path. She took a deep breath in and began approaching it.
