Chapter 1

The first birthday after getting back together.

Aaron Hill sent me a menu and told me to cook it myself.

He invited his good friends and the girl he was pursuing, saying it was to celebrate my birthday.

On the long dining table sat the stir-fried dishes I had spent three hours preparing.

Aaron picked up a piece of spare rib with his fork and carefully brought it to the woman's lips, "Anna, try it and see how it tastes. I had Sophia make it specially—all your favorite dishes."

Anna Sarah, sitting at the head of the table, remained unmoved.

Aaron put down his utensils and had the servants wheel out a custom-made multi-tiered cake.

"Do you like it? I designed this cake for you. It has the place where we first met, your most beautiful smile, your favorite flowers, your favorite color purple, the wedding you've always wanted, and your initials: AS..."

Three months ago, I saw this cake design in Aaron's office.

After designing it, he brought in several top pastry chefs from abroad and spent three months creating it.

My birthday was coming up soon, and I thought the AS on the cake stood for both our names.

I never expected it was just me being delusional.

Anna glanced at the cake, her tone flat, "Aaron, I've told you many times—I don't like getting too close to married men. Instead of trying to please me this way, why don't you go make things right with your wife? I remember you two just got back together less than a year ago. Aren't you afraid she'll fight with you again?"

Hearing this, Aaron's lips curved slightly, "She's just an old woman. The one I truly love is you."

Chapter 1

I stood at the door holding a plate, numb.

Listening to the conversation inside, my heart had long stopped feeling anything.

Two years of marriage—I knew Aaron's temperament better than anyone.

As the heir to the corporation, he chose to marry me to secure his position as CEO.

I thought he loved me, but I was wrong.

A year ago, Aaron was caught by me having sex with a minor celebrity in his car.

I smashed the car window right there, dragged out the half-naked starlet, and asked him for a divorce.

Aaron was into playing around back then and didn't care at all. He protected the starlet and drove off.

But less than two weeks later, he got bored of her.

He turned around and desperately begged for my forgiveness.

He swore to heaven that he would never touch another woman again and would never hurt me again.

He sent people to spend three days and nights fishing out the wedding ring I had thrown into the river in anger.

He said the wedding ring represented love and loyalty, and he would be like that ring—eternal and unchanging.

I forgave him.

That day, Aaron was happy like a child.

He rested one hand on the steering wheel, his eyes full of triumphant laughter, "Sophia, I swear I'll never let you down in this lifetime!"

I didn't say anything, just watched the scenery passing by outside the car window.

I chose to forgive him because I really couldn't let go.

Couldn't let go of this hard-won marriage.

Even more, couldn't let go of the top-tier resources in the piano world that his mother, Haven Hill, had access to.

I'd had enough of being a housewife all these years.

I suddenly wanted to fulfill the dream I never completed.

With Haven's unique guidance, my piano skills could reach new heights.

Haven had long seen through Aaron's nature. She once told me, "Men love to play around. He'll probably cheat again in the future. When you can't take it anymore and want to leave, come find me. I can make you two divorce, and I'll compensate you with whatever you want."

After holding on for a year, I finally realized that when this day came, my heart would still ache.

Aaron, since you love chasing novelty so much, I might as well let you have it completely.

I untied my apron and sent out a message.

[Mom, I want to divorce Aaron. Also, I want a spot in the International Piano Competition.]

Soon, I received a reply.

[Give me three days.]

I had just replied when Anna's voice reached my ears.

"Mrs. Hill, why are you standing there? Is my favorite Tortilla de Mariscos ready?"

Everyone looked at me, including Aaron.
