Chapter 2

When Aaron saw me, he frowned and let go of Anna's hand.

His friends quickly stood up, trying to smooth things over.

"Sophia, don't get the wrong idea. We took it upon ourselves to invite this woman."

"Please don't be upset! We meant well. It's a birthday party after all—the more people, the merrier."

Another person gestured for Anna to get up from the seat of honor, but she didn't move.

Instead, she glanced at me sideways, "You must be Mrs. Hill? I'm sure you saw what just happened. Please control your husband. He harasses me every day and it's causing me a lot of trouble."

I laughed softly, "Maybe some mistresses just enjoy that sense of superiority. Or maybe Aaron likes being bossed around by his mistress."

"You're calling me a mistress?"

Anna's eyes filled with tears, her innocent face showing defiance.

"Aaron, I may come from an ordinary background, but I'm clean. I've never been in a relationship. Many men have pursued me, but I haven't even let them hold my hand, let alone married men."

"But now your wife is calling me a mistress. You'd better give me a reasonable explanation. Otherwise, let's not see each other again!"

Only then did Aaron stand up.

He walked over to me, his tone gentle but carrying an undertone that I must obey, "Honey, you shouldn't bully a young girl. Apologize to Anna now."

"Me apologize?" I scoffed. "Aaron, you're the one who should apologize. Have you forgotten the promise you made a year ago?"

"If you hadn't made such a fuss back then, would I have said those things? Just apologize."

Aaron's face darkened as he gripped my wrist tightly.

"Be good, honey. This is the first time I've met such a pure girl. She's different from other women. I really want to experience what it's like with a virgin. I'll be very sad if I can't see her anymore."

The word "pure" cut deep. If I hadn't saved him back then, I wouldn't have been...

So what am I to Aaron?

Has he ever thought about my feelings?

I took a deep breath, "What if I refuse?"

"Then don't blame me."

Aaron made a phone call, and two bodyguards rushed in from outside.

"Are you really going to force me?"

Aaron slowly released my wrist and gently stroked my cheek, "Honey, let's not embarrass each other, okay? I really can't bear to hurt you."

"I said I won't apologize!"

When my temper flares up, I can be very stubborn.

I never admit to things I didn't do wrong.

And I wanted to see what Aaron would do to me for another woman.

"Do it. Just be gentle—my wife doesn't like pain."

Aaron waved his hand.

The bodyguards pressed me firmly against the cold floor, forcing me to kneel.

At that moment, the pain in my heart overshadowed the pain in my knees.

I looked up defiantly and caught Anna's victorious smile.

"Mr. Hill, so you really do care about me! I agree to have dinner with you alone tonight. I wonder—will you choose to go out with me, or stay home and celebrate your wife's birthday?"

"In my heart, you'll never be a choice."

With that, Aaron bent down and helped me up with tender eyes, "Be good, honey. Go home and wait for me. I'll come back right after dinner."

"Whatever."

I didn't look at him. I straightened my clothes, turned around, and went back to the bedroom.

This time, I won't look back.
