Chapter 8 : He Look So Damn Hot
Chapter 8: He Look So Damn Hot
Sophie
“What is it?” Adriano asked as he took the canvas from my hands.
“H..hades and Persephone.” I muttered, not happy with the canvas.
“Hade is wearing a flower crown?” Luciano raised an eyebrow at me.
“And Persephone is wearing his helmet?”
I treaded my fingers together over my bag.
“I have seen artwork in which artists show how Hades changed her and made her the queen of the underworld. They show his influence on her but not her influence on him. I mean, if they are romanticizing her abduction and saying that they are in love, shouldn't Persephone have some kind of influence too?” I bit my lip.
“Dose that make sense?” I asked quietly because it didn't to my professor.
Luciano nodded at once, taking the canvas from Angelo’s hands and looked at it. It was of Persephone sitting on the armrest, wearing a flower crown and his dark clothes. He had his helmet on her head, her blonde hair spilling on her body which was covered in a pink dress. I had tried to make it as good as I could.
“It does make sense.” Adriano said, his dark eyes focused on me.
I remembered how close he had come to kiss me in the grocery store and how close I had come to let him.
“If you fall for someone, they change you.” He leaned closer, making my breath hitch.
“Not even the king of the underworld could resist the charm of her innocence.” He murmured, twirling a strand of my hair around his fingers.
The car stopped right in front of my apartment building. I got out, sharing a quick bye and thank you to them before scurrying to my apartment. I realized I had forgotten to take my painting from them and I didn't mind them having it.
I was not aware of this, no one has told me that this was happening. Professor Alinco loved to surprise us, he was a new professor but this surprise was not a good one. I watched as Angelo Rizzo entered the room, followed by some tall guy who from what I knew was the CFO of Rizzo enterprise.
“Hello, students.” Professor Alinco said, grinding like a Cheshire cat.
“As I mentioned last week, Mr. Rizzo and Mr. Wilson is here to explain to you…”
“I would like to take over.” Angelo interrupted, his eyes right on me. He looked so damn hot, dressed in a dark brown suit and his hair down.
Professor Alinco was too excited to even be embarrassed by the rude interruptions, he just nodded and was still grinding before walking a little away.
“The Rizzo group of companies indulges in many things.” He began, his one hand in the pocket of his coat as the other man did something with the projector.
“We have several hotel chains which are spread all over the world. We have several restaurants, and we have multiple businesses under us around the world.”
He continued speaking, his eyes on me and I got lost in them. His voice was confident and demanding attention and I wondered if they liked this when they were all my age. Were they like this, intimidating and powerful or had they been normal young people who liked to drink at frat parties and hide things from their parents? From what I knew, their father had died years ago, there was no mention of their mother anyway online. Not like I searched them up, it was just a quick search to sate my curiosity.
I was the last one to get out of the classroom somehow. Maybe because I had not been able to tore my eyes away from Angelo even after he had finished his lecture. I am aware that he was looking at me too, and I walked out of the class with my heart beating furiously. Did he notice that I barely paid attention to what he had said? I had been mesmerized by how long his eyelashes were and how soft his hair looked and how sharp his jaw looked. Looking so damn hot was something the Rizzo had under their belt easily. They could have been models if they weren't billionaires and maybe criminals. I walked into the restroom and looked at myself in the mirror. My cheeks were faintly pink, I was wearing a t-shirt and jeans and sweater on the top. My hair was in a low ponytail and some strands of it framing my face, my glasses were on my nose, my eyes were lined with thick eyeliner. Did I look good enough to be stared at by a man like Angelo? He had looked at me all through the lecture and I know people must have noticed but I didn't pay attention to them. I just looked at him, it was interesting to look at him. It was interesting to look at them.
They seemed like an old painting I had just discovered. I felt the same restlessness I had felt when I looked at Starry night when I looked at them, maybe a little more. Restless because I couldn't wait to decipher them, to look at the difference lairs at them. In a painting, I often wondered why an artist used a certain color and a certain thing while looking at them. I wondered why they were like that. What had shaped them? What did that emotionless look in their eyes mean? I love mysteries, I loved finding things out and I wanted to figure them out as I did with everything. I wanted to figure them out. And I knew I was never going to do that, I did not have the courage to do that. They were dangerous men.
I walked out of the restroom and I bumped right into him, his expensive cologne invading my nostrils and I wanted to ask which brand he used even though I knew I would never be able to buy whatever he used. He wrapped his arms around me to keep me from falling, I froze and looked up at him. He arched an eyebrow, perfect face showing amusement.
“Is that how you greet me, little one?”
Blushing at the nickname which sounded so soft as if spoken with great care, I pushed away from him.
“Hello, Mr. Rizzo.” I said softly, smiling because I didn't stutter.
He smiled at me, a small smile.
“Hello, Sophie. You can call me Angelo.”
Just when I was about to say something back, professor Alinco walked towards us and his round face smiled. He was a small, happy man, he carried good vibes and wore weird ties.”
“Mr. Rizzo, oh, you are here with Sophie Taylor. She can use extra guidance.” He chuckled, my eyes widened. Angelo smirked at me.
“Actually, I know, Miss. Taylor. I just came to say hello and ask if she needed a ride home. It is raining quite heavily.”
What?
