Chapter 5 Desire

Eli’s POV

"Put this on."

I took off my jacket and threw it at Genesis's face.

Genesis looked confused as she pulled off the jacket, making gestures I couldn't understand.

Damn sign language.

"Just put it on when I tell you to. Why so much fuss?" I impatiently grabbed her hands, no longer looking at her chest.

I must have been beaten senseless by the old man to feel desire for a seventeen-year-old virgin. How ridiculous!

I'd always only liked hot women with big breasts and slim waists. They were more open in bed and more fun to play with.

And this one in front of me? She looked like some celibate nun. Touching her would only bring endless trouble. How could I possibly like her?

Besides, she was my dear brother's adopted daughter. Technically my niece.

Seeing she still hadn't moved, I clicked my tongue. "Still not putting it on?"

Just as I was about to get angry, she pulled out her phone and typed: [You're injured, you should wear it yourself.]

I laughed in disbelief.

No matter what, I was still an adult male. Wasn't she afraid I'd do something to her dressed like that? When did Eli become some rule-abiding gentleman?

I simply stepped forward, grabbed the jacket, and forcibly put it on her.

"The detention room is so cold, and you came here in just a dress. Not afraid of the cold? Or trying to seduce me?" I looked down into her eyes. Genesis indeed moved her gaze away like a startled rabbit, pulling distance between us.

My jacket looked oversized on her, making her look even more like a tempting little cake.

Fuck.

I closed my eyes and pointed to the wound on my back. "Hurry up and apply the medicine!"

Only then did Genesis hurry over, skillfully taking bandages and medicine from the kit.

"You're smart enough to bring medicine." I turned my back to her, feeling a pair of soft little hands carefully applying medicine to my wounds, occasionally blowing cool air on them.

I kicked her medicine kit irritably. "I'm talking to you, why don't you..."

I turned around impatiently, only to realize she innocently pointed to her throat, indicating she couldn't speak.

"How boring." I snorted coldly and turned away.

Seeing I wasn't giving her more trouble, the little mute obediently finished applying the medicine, then stopped there.

I turned back to see her holding bandages with a troubled expression, raising an eyebrow. "Why'd you stop? Hurry up and wrap the bandages."

Genesis lowered her eyes and slowly moved closer.

I chuckled. Don't let her current obedient appearance fool you. She was probably cursing me in her head.

She bent down, pressing the bandage around my waist and abdomen, her fingers inevitably touching my skin.

I frowned and looked up, immediately seeing her delicate chin.

We were too close. Close enough that I could smell the faint fragrance from her body. Not strong, but very comfortable.

I unconsciously leaned toward her, but Genesis dodged away like a startled deer.

She was avoiding me?

I clicked my tongue in displeasure and deliberately groaned. "Ow, that hurts!"

Genesis's movements immediately froze as she looked at me with concern.

"Using so much force, are you trying to murder your uncle?" I playfully emphasized the word "uncle." Genesis frantically shook her head and reluctantly moved closer again.

That sweet fragrance returned, calming my irritated mood considerably.

Genesis gently finished bandaging me, automatically distancing herself and standing obediently nearby.

But my mind drifted to those eyes I'd first seen under the tree. They held curiosity, inquiry, even doubt. Everything except fear.

Would a girl who dared slap Delilah in the face really be as docile and harmless as she appeared?

She was just pretending in front of me.

Thinking this, nameless anger rose in my chest. I snorted coldly at her. "Planning to leave? But I'm hungry now. Go prepare some food for me."

Genesis jerked her head up to look at me, then quickly nodded.

I didn't miss the flash of impatience in her eyes.

Interesting.

I continued maliciously. "Something you make yourself. Don't think about being lazy."

I thought she'd finally lose control of her anger, but that momentary impatience seemed like my imagination. She returned to her obedient appearance, nodded, and retreated.

"Not planning to poison me, are you?" I chuckled as I watched her leave, not realizing my attention to her had exceeded normal bounds.

Not even with Delilah.

After a while, I heard footsteps outside the detention room, then someone pushed open the door.

"You're back so fast? I said personally made..." I looked up and raised an eyebrow at who stood in the doorway.

Genesis’s POV

I'd always known Eli was a terrible guy.

The chefs would be more than happy to prepare a late-night snack for him, yet he specifically chose me to make it.

This was clearly deliberate harassment.

Unfortunately, I couldn't show any unwillingness.

I walked into the kitchen, unsurprised to find all the surfaces spotless. The Martinez family never kept overnight food. Even if I wanted to be lazy, there was no way.

Helplessly, I could only find a steak in the refrigerator and start frying it in a pan.

My cooking skills really weren't great. Getting this steak cooked would be thanking God.

Watching the steak gradually change color in the pan, my thoughts drifted.

If Jordan hadn't appeared in time tonight, I might have really drowned in that pool. Even if Christian was dissatisfied, what good would it do?

Both Savannah and Delilah wished I would disappear from their sight.

And Eli...

It would be good enough if he didn't personally push me down. Expecting his help was like dreaming.

I still needed to get into college quickly and leave this place.

I silently made up my mind and carried the finished steak toward the detention room.

Just reaching the door, Delilah appeared.

She looked at me with displeasure, her eyes full of hostility. "What are you doing here? Seducing Eli?"

I quickly shook my head, holding up the steak and typing on my phone: [Eli said he was hungry and asked me to bring him steak.]

Delilah glanced at the plate in my hands and arrogantly extended her hand. "Just give it to me. He definitely wants to see me most right now."

I immediately felt relieved, unhesitatingly handing her the plate and turning to leave.

But before I'd taken two steps, Delilah called me back with an unfriendly tone.

"I've seen plenty of illegitimate daughters like you. You'd better stay away from Eli, or I have plenty of ways to deal with you..." She leaned closer, her strong perfume giving me a headache. "You wouldn't want to experience tonight's ordeal a second time, would you?"
