Chapter 5 Reunion

Chapter 4

Reunion

The reunion was held in a five-star hotel restaurant located in the heart of Barcelona. The restaurant is attached to the swimming pool, and leads directly to the beach so that if restaurant guests visit there in the afternoon, they can enjoy the beautiful sunset over Barcelona. The restaurant and swimming pool are only separated by large windows that separate the place.

There are doors that are designed to use automatic sensors, the door will open by itself when someone passes through it. When she arrived at the place, Vanilla was a little surprised because the place was not very big, it was impossible to accommodate three generations of students at her school.

The girl glanced around the room, not too many people had come because she had come early, and hadn't come with Beck. Xaviera said that she should avoid Beck and make as many male friends as possible with the aim of making Beck jealous. And tonight, Vanilla will start carrying out the plan that her mother has prepared. Although Vanilla herself was actually a little unsure.

What if Beck doesn't take the bait?

Vanilla glanced out of the restaurant, towards the swimming pool and saw several girls she knew standing at the edge of the swimming pool, chatting happily while taking selfies of themselves. The girl immediately decided to join the group of girls.

"Vanilla..." A blonde girl walked with wide strides towards Vanilla who had just taken two steps through the automatic door. "God, I thought you wouldn't come back here."

Vanilla spread her arms. "Cassandra, I really missed you," she said.

"Four years you left me," grumbled Cassandra, Vanilla's best friend during high school.

"Forgive me." Vanilla still hugged her best friend tightly. "Now I'm back."

"And you didn't tell me you were back," Cassandra protested.

Vanilla stretched her arms, the girl grinned. "I'm too busy with my mother's cake shop."

"I'm going to visit your shop. I miss eating your mother's delicious cakes and I miss sitting on the little tower behind your house, oh my God!"

"Then come to my house, not the shop," said Vanilla.

"Well, that's better. I'll be happy to get cake for free."

The two girls laughed cheerfully as they walked towards the edge of the swimming pool, joined the other girls and without awkwardness asked each other how they were and then shared their experiences of four years apart, chatting as usual with friends who had been separated for a long time.

"Four years have really changed you," said Cassandra, who had actually been observing Vanilla's very elegant appearance, different from the Vanilla she knew before.

Vanilla smiled. "Nothing hasn't changed."

Hiding the fact that in fact nothing had changed at all, his mother worked hard for a month training her to wear fashionable clothes, use make-up, walk properly in shoes with high and pointed heels.

"Listen, from now on because you have returned here, I don't want to know anymore. You have to join us often," said Alona, a cute girl with black hair and brown eyes.

"Are we going to practice ballet again?" Vanilla asked, her expression looking a little tense.

Cassandra laughed. "Don't say that in four years you haven't touched your ballet shoes again."

"You're right," said Vanilla.

"As I thought," said Jovanca. "Then, starting next Sunday we will learn ballet dancing again."

Vanilla squealed, "Oh my God."

The girls laughed cheerfully then returned to chatting, this time they reminisced about their teenage years, their school days where they were members of the ballet club.

"By the way, why are so few people coming?" Vanilla asked because after half an hour it was just them and several other girls who were huddled together separately, as well as several men who Vanilla remembered as her upperclassmen.

"Don't say you don't know that this event is only for the basketball club and ballet club," said Cassandra.

"What?" Vanilla's lips were slightly agape, she couldn't believe it because she thought that this reunion event was a big reunion of three generations. She had no idea that the event was only for the ballet and basketball clubs.

"Ah, never mind. Let's enjoy this party. Besides, the organizer of this event is Nicholas Knight, let's just say he treated us to a free dinner and party," said Jovanca while grinning broadly.

"What?" Vanilla was surprised again.

"Do you remember our senior, Nick?" Cassandra asked.

"Head of the basketball team," said Alona.

Vanilla just blinked her eyes. Of course she remembered Nick, the most handsome boy in her high school, Beck's best friend.

"He is the son of the owner of this hotel," said Jovanca.

"And he also gave us free time to stay at this hotel tonight," said Cassandra.

Vanilla just nodded her head in understanding. However, hearing Nick's name actually made her heart race very fast. Maybe because in the past she really admired Nick's good looks and his actions on the basketball court which made all the girls at school scream hysterically. The girls at his school idolize Nick to the point that they even create a silly union, which is named: Nick belongs together.

There are certain rules in it, one of which is to protect Nick from girls who want to date him at school, whether that's true or not Vanilla doesn't know for sure because she doesn't join in that ridiculous union. Besides, she was still in first grade while Nick and Beck were in third grade. In other words, she only knew Nick for one year because after Nick graduated, she didn't know where the handsome young man would continue his studies.

The sound of a man clearing his throat made Vanilla and her friends turn towards the source of the sound. Beck was standing not far from them, his hands in his pockets and looking at Vanilla with a cold gaze.

"Can I borrow Vanilla for a moment?" Beck asked who knows who, his eyes were clearly focused on Vanilla. Vanilla's friends giggled, they were used to seeing scenes like that.

Watching Beck suddenly come and then push Vanilla away from them and even witness Vanilla arguing with Beck because she still wanted to hang out with her friends was a sight they encountered almost every day when they came home from school.

Vanilla's lips looked slightly pursed, Beck had always been like that. The man with copper blue eyes always bothered her whenever she was enjoying time with her friends. Vanilla got up from her seat, followed Beck's footsteps away from her friends and they stopped at the edge of the quiet swimming pool.

"Didn't I tell you that you should have come here with me?" Beck said and secretly observed Vanilla's appearance which was different from usual.

The girl looks beautiful wearing a casual but elegant black dress with a straight cut above the knee. The dress is a little tight but looks comfortable to wear. However, that's not the case. The problem was that because Vanilla's curves were perfectly formed, Beck didn't want other men to see those beautiful curves.

"I can go alone, my driver will take me," said Vanilla flatly.

"Come back with me, don't stay here, don't interact with the men. I'll keep an eye on you," Beck said in a very commanding tone.

Vanilla pouted in her heart, she already knew it would be like this. "I can interact with anyone, you can't to control me," said Vanilla flatly. Xaviera said that she had to be firm against Beck if the man started being unreasonable and now Vanilla was doing her best to brave herself.

"You're my fiancé," Beck hissed, his jaw visibly set, unable to hide his emissions as Vanilla bucked against him.

"Didn't you say we weren't related, Beck?" Vanilla asked while chuckling.

"Don't try to defy me or I'll drag you back to your home," Beck growled threateningly.

Vanilla sighed. Beck, the man always said that he didn't love her, but his possessive attitude made Vanilla once again give hope.

"Okay, I won't mingle with any men," said Vanilla. Just wait, Beck. I will repay you a hundredfold.

"Well, that's just my Vanilla," Beck said with satisfaction and patted the top of Vanilla's head lightly.

However, Vanilla roughly brushed Beck's palm away from the top of her head and then without saying anything the girl stepped away from Beck, back towards the chair where her friends were.

"I thought your bodyguard had changed, but apparently not." Cassandra immediately taunted him when Vanilla returned with them.

"We'd better go in, it looks like the event will start soon," said Vanilla, ignoring Cassandra's teasing.
