Chapter 1 Prologue

" Is the king pleased with you, Princess?"

" Does he have any choice? I have trained myself just to get his favour, Rora. However, he is too soft to do the favour for me. What's the news now? By the way, don't call me, Princess. No one should know here."
Rora bit her tongue and nodded with understanding. Rora has been by my side ever since I was sold to this kingdom. Before that, the enemies of my father's kingdom didn't know that I was the actual princess. Rora's big sister, Nora took everything for me that very night. They raped her and later killed her mercilessly, assuming that I was the princess. Since then, I was more like a big sister to Rora rather than a princess or master.
Rora worked like a personal spy for me. In front of the whole castle, we two were the most innocent creatures. But at night, we returned to ourselves just like a master and maid. Rora explained to me further as we walked far away from the chambers,
" I heard that King Konrad has a new plan for King Cassius. Now that all of his plans have failed, he wants to use a woman to send to Cassius's bed. More like, he is looking for a female spy who will work for him in the Lycan Kingdom."
My steps paused upon hearing her, a big smile pulling on my lips. This was the exact moment that I was waiting for my whole life. I needed someone more and more powerful than Konrad. Among werewolves, Lycans were the best ones and were more powerful than average werewolves. Their Lycan King, Cassius Winston was one of the remarkable Lycan Kings, the step-brother of Konrad Winston who couldn't even tolerate each other's shadow.
I squeezed Rora's hands excitedly, my heart rising up in hopes,
" Finally!! Finally!! This is my opportunity, Rora. I can use both Konrad and Cassius if I go there as his spy. Tell me, what are the requirements that they are looking for?"
Rora gave me her worried look, her voice filled with concern,
" But Princess...You are King Konrad's new favorite. I don't think that he will let you go there. Besides, King Cassius is much more cruel than any other Lycans in the world. How are you so sure that you will be his favourite too? They have summoned all the slaves and maids to testify for the task."
My jaw clenched hard, remembering the night when I saw how my father's body was torn apart, the cries of my pregnant sister-in-law, and the hanging body of my mother. I stopped crying ever since I vowed to avenge all of their deaths. Dismissing the thoughts away, I replied from my deep hatred, my eyes blurring in tears,
" I don't care...I don't care, Rora..Even if I die after seeking my revenge, I won't regret it. Give my name to the head beta. I want to go there as a spy too. I am sure that
King Konrad won't reject me if I want."
