Chapter 35 Thirty four

The boardroom was on the top floor, a wide space with glass walls and a long polished table. It held twelve leather chairs, each assigned to a board member who rarely appeared without a reason. Today, every chair was filled. They sat in formal silence, watching me enter as if waiting for a verdict.
