Chapter 4

Phina's POV

“Uhm…Jason…what's going on?” It took me quite a couple of moments before I could make sense of it all.

“It's not Jason…” Jason got out of the bed and got in his clothes, speaking to me with an emotionless face, like he hadn't been so into me in the past couple of moments. “It's Alpha Jason… so you better know where you stand.” He turned to the ecstatic female at the door and smiled like her presence was tickling him. “I told you I would get my mate to join the party pretty soon.”

“What party?” I was so lost as so many sensitive words were flying over my head and no one cared to give me the explanation that I needed so badly. “I'm confused, Jason…”

My heart skipped a few beats as he gave me an angry look and that made me realize he had actually been serious about what he had just said about being called Alpha Jason.

“Alpha Jason… what's going on?” I tried to make some sense out of it all one more time as I watched him head over to the erratic female who had just walked in. “Did I do anything wrong? I was just trying to—”

I nearly stopped breathing as I watched both of them lock lips. What the heck was going on?

“You were right on time, Sheila…” he said to her as he kissed her one more time. “Don't worry, none of them would ever taste as good as you. It just happens that this one happened to come a bit close…”

In response to that, Sheila, the female at the door gave me a brief angry look before returning her gaze to Jason whom she kissed again and reached for his member which happened to be hard again, much to my amazement. What the heck was going on?

“He's hungry again…but I will be the one to do the eating this time around…” Sheila said as she ran her hand through its length. “You better stay hard…while I give this little mutt a rundown of what exactly she has just gotten herself into.”

“I'm glad that you decided to do the honors. I was wondering how I was going to handle the tears. Not like she didn't almost cry when I was hitting it…” Jason took his voice down to a whisper before he continued. “I happened to be her first…”

“What the heck is going on?” I had no idea what had gotten into me to make me so bold to let that question on top of my voice.

Tears were already streaming down my cheeks as I struggled to make some sense out of what was going on around me. Pleasure had vanished like the morning mist as the pain began to settle in fully. Most especially, the one in-between my thighs.

“Alright… I think I've had enough of your whining…” Sheila said as she stepped forward to meet me. “I've not seen any girl as audacious. You were nothing but a tool who has just served a purpose which you'll most likely serve again…”

“What?” I decided not to listen to her anymore as I took my eyes to Jason who was still standing far off. “But you are my mate…tell me none of this is true…” I was honestly waiting for the part where he would come plainly and just tell me that he had been pulling my legs all that time.

But with the way things were going, it looked like that time was never going to come. The cold look I got from Jason was scaring me to death.

“Jason…”

“It's Alpha Jason, you nitwit…!” Sheila yelled me shut, showing her immense hate for me and that made me not dare to speak. “Let me just help you get this clear into your head…your Alpha Jason happens to have a really voracious sexual appetite and he will have to fulfill those desires with a wide array of women and you just happen to be one of many surrogates.”

“No…” I didn't know what to call the feeling that boiled up inside me. Was it pain? Anger? Grief? Sorrow? Whatever it was, it was killing me slowly and I just didn't want to feel anymore of it.

“Yes…” Sheila said, mocking my pain. “You're nothing special… and you must learn to know your place…”

“No…” I was stirred to act as I suddenly got up to my feet, holding the covers against my body to protect what was left of my pride. “In that case…I can't accept you as my mate…”

“Huh…?” Jason asked, exchanging glances with Sheila like I was talking crazy. They both laughed at my words, but I wasn't going to let that discourage me in any way.

“I, Phina Rivers of the Moonshade Pack, reject you, Alpha Jason Varkon, of the Blood Claw Pack as my mate…”

“And I, Alpha Jason Varkon of the Blood Claw Pack reject your rejection…!” Jason barely let me finish as he let out the very statement that had me and Sheila startled.

Before I could say anything, Jason zoomed at me with hostile intensity, took me by the neck and pinned me to the wall not too far behind me.

“Reject me, and I’ll make your life worse than death…” Jason said as he leaned in a bit closer. “You might be my mate, but she's my Luna. You'll just be the thing that will give me my heir. I don't want my Luna to go through the pain of childbirth…”

With that, he let me go, and I was soon gasping desperately for breath. He stomped out of the room, leaving me all alone with his so-called Luna. I just couldn't hold back the tears as I kept crying there in the silence, with my head hanging low in shame.

It was all looking like I had fallen some sort of set up by my pack members to do away with me.

The silence remained till she decided to break it.

“I don't know what exactly it is about you, but I can't hide how much I loathe your very presence.” Sheila was stepping towards me with each word she spoke. “The plan was to do away with you after he's done ramming your hole. But he wants to keep you for some reason and I can't let that happen…”

As soon as I raised my head, she replaced Jason's hand on my neck.

“You've clearly failed with your first fated mate and now it's about time for you to move on…” the color of her eyes changed to something unnatural as she spoke. The white part turned pitch black and that got me scared. “Ten days, pretty omega. Ten days to find your second chance mate and have him mark you—or your heart will rot in your chest.”

“What…?” I sensed a strange, dark aura as she spoke and that made me melt in fear.

I felt a cold sensation swept through my entire body as she let go. Did she just curse me?

“Now get some clothes on and get out!”
