Chapter 2 The Playful Couple
Ignorant of the devastation he was willing to bring on himself and the people he loved sincerely, he decided to return to the one his very soul screamed for.
But, to him, that’s what they consider love; either destroy yourself or destroy EVERYTHING*….*
Carrying those flames, the thirty years old attractive billionaire, William Grayson, decided to come home for his sister’s marriage.
In a prestigious household, everyone was bustling, decorating their lavishing mansion to ensure everything would be according to the demand of the youngest daughter of the Grayson family.
The marriage of Helena Grayson.
“Where are you, Bella?! I am waiting for you! If my best friend wouldn’t be here, what am I supposed to do!?”
Yelling over the phone, Helena was pacing around the hall.
Everyone smiled to hear her fury, waiting for her best friend, Arabella Dew who was nowhere to be found.
“I don’t care. I want you here and you are going to stay here until I say I do, you hear me?”
“Fine. Bye.”
Puffing, Helena cut the call and the second she turned, her look-alike elder brother, twenty-seven years old, Luke Grayson smirked at her.
His dazzling hazel eyes shining with gentleness along with an aesthetic smile. He was the cheery one of the family.
“May I know why you were yelling, dearest sister?” His velvety tone came, coming to her.
Wearing a white office shirt and black trousers, indicating he just returned from work.
One hand in his pocket and scattered brown hairs, enhancing his handsome features.
“Look, Luke, Bella is not here yet! How can she not come? I am getting married, we were supposed to do all the decorations together.” She whined again, earning a chuckle from her Brother.
“Oh, I see. I totally understand your point. How dare she make you sad at your special event, right?”
He nodded in agreement, placing his hand on her shoulder to give her a side hug.
“That is why,”
Pausing, he extended his hand towards the entrance, whispering sweetly with a chuckle.
“Here she is,”
From the entrance, a twenty-four years old, angelic woman with gray siren eyes, shining like crystals accompanied by flowing black hair rushed inside as the delighted woman jumped into her best friend’s arms.
“Helena!”
“Bella! You are finally here!” Helena beamed, hugging her tightly.
Luke smiled at the friends, leaning slightly towards Arabella that made her heart skip a beat in anticipation as he continued in his melodious tone.
“She was taking too long, right? So I kidnaped her from her apartment and presented her here, Her Majesty.” Luke cracked a joke.
Arabella giggled, tugging her hair behind, she lowered her gaze gracefully when he was almost touching her body with his teasingly.
“Good job, Knight.”
Helana laughed, taking Arabella’s hands and taking her with her.
Before leaving, she lifted her gaze slightly and met Luke’s passionate ones and ran away with her friend slyly.
“Oh, I cannot tell you how delighted I am for you,”
Arabella chuckled, checking the enormous place which was being embellished ravishingly.
“Me too.” She giggled.
“I swear, If you hadn’t come yourself, I would have killed you. Luke saved you,” Helena added strictly, walking down with her friend to show her the place.
“He understands you so well. He knows what you want.” Arabella replied timidly, averting her gaze only to find Luke coming after freshening up in his casual clothes.
She quickly looked away when he smirked at her.
“Now that you are here, it only leaves Brother William.” Helena pouted.
“Isn’t he here yet?” Arabella asked, taken aback.
“No. An important meeting came so he had to delay his flight but said he would be here any time now. Ah, I am so excited to see him. It’s been two years since I last saw him.”
“Yeah, it’s been a while. Plus, he should be in your father’s place after all,” She hummed.
“Of course. After Mama and Papa’s death, Brother William brought us up. I cannot imagine getting married without him. No matter how close I am with Luke, I won’t walk down the aisle with him.”
“Is that what I get for being nice?” Luke came with a frown.
“Yes. Don’t compare yourself to Brother, you are nowhere near him.”
“Why are you throwing a fact on my face?”
Arabella came in between, stopping the siblings, “Okay, guys, why don’t we focus on the decoration?”
“Yeah. Wait here, I will get my phone, I want to show you the idea.”
“Sure.”
“I will come too-”
Arabella was about to leave but Luke didn’t let her, cutting her off temptingly.
“Where do you think you are going, Miss?”
The second Helena was out of sight, Luke grabbed Arabella’s wrist and pulled her close to him as his other hand snaked around her waist, bringing a scarlet shade on her cheeks.
“W-What are you doing, Luke?” She gasped, growing nervous at his closeness.
Even after two years of their relationship, she was unable to get used to their intimacy, which never failed to intoxicate her, giving butterflies to her stomach.
“What do you think?”
He smirked, wrapping his hand more to bring her delicate body closer so it could brush against his.
“Someone will see.” She whispered shyly.
“Do you have any idea how hard it is for me to find you so close yet being unable to hold you?” He whispered, moving his hand from her wrist to the side of her face, caressing it gently.
When her eyes locked with his, she turned oblivious of her world. Blessed to have him near her, she drowned herself entirely.
She had one dream- being his.
“You are the one who wanted to keep our relationship a secret.” She muttered, faking sadness, poking his chest with her finger to create some distances.
“Not anymore. When William comes, I will tell him and everyone about us.” Luke enunciated, bringing a wide grin on her face.
“Really?!”
“Yes. Get ready. Our number is going to be next.”
He laughed a little, winking in the end brimming a whole new level of gaiety inside her.
“Oh, Luke,”
A chuckle escaped her lips, clinging onto him, hugging him with all her might from excitement
The merest thought of everyone being aware of their love, of them becoming one delighted her.
“I pray wholeheartedly that we stay together forever.” She whispered as they held hands to stare at each other, tilting their heads adorably with a never ending smile.
Praying that no evil eye would follow their world and ruin it. It was their moment, their connection, their unbreakable bond.
They were made for each other after all…
“So tell me, how early would you like to be my bride? Because if possible, I would want it next second.”
A playful smirk reaching his lip gradually, Luke took a step closer but Arabella removed her hands and pinched his cheeks, pulling him back slightly.
“For me, take another year.” She teased him, taking a step back.
“How about no?”
He arched an eyebrow seductively.
He ‘needed’ to make her his bride, he wanted her in his home.
He had waited enough.
“Then keep dreaming, Mister.” She giggled.
Before he could hold her again, she ducked and ran away from there, bringing a pout on his handsome face. Not pleased with the merest distance between them.
“Hey, come back.”
“Catch me~”
Winking, her hand waved gracefully in the air, calling her lover to follow her.
He narrowed his eyes for the next two seconds before releasing a tempting chuckle and ran after her as they ran down the stairs.
“Hey, come here-”
He extended his hand but she was swifter and took a graceful spin, slipping from his almost grip as everyone was compelled to stare at the lively sight.
“Catch me then!”
Cooing with the sound of their laughs echoing in the home of happiness, singing the song of their love, they ran around.
Laughing, exuberant, breathless.
“Ara-”
Luke opened his mouth, gaining her attention for a second causing Arabella to lose her steps.
“What?”
She glanced from her shoulder and before realizing, she accidentally bumped into a muscular body.
“-Bella..”
Completing his words slowly, Luke’s steps gradually ended. Blinking when he saw Arabella was held by another thirty year old man.
Extremely enchanting, without a doubt, holding her by her arms to help her to not fall, staring down at the petite woman.
“Arabella.”
A deep, dominant voice called her, making her heart skip a beat from tension as she looked up at the man with glimmering blue eyes holding her, calling his name hesitantly.
“... William?”
