Iโm tired of the Ashen bashing. People complaining about Ashen not being a strong king isnโt reading the book correctly and not understanding his circumstances! Remember, heโs only became the king because ge was the better choice BUT he doesnโt have the support of a strong tribe(s) to helo stabilize the kingdom, thus the competition! thereโs a power struggle right now within the 13 tribes and heโs stuck in the middle; his primary concern right now is to prevent another civil war! we all know how hard it is to please everyone. Ashen doesnโt have a lot of allies and heโs spread thin. Cessi has come along now and is helping to take on some of the burden! I am loving the book!

I think Cessilia is amazing. She keeps Ashen in line and tell him the things he do not want to hear, she strong headed and has a lot of determination. I think they balance each other in a good way.

What they did is admirable for sure. Things are moving along but I understand Cesilias worries all the same, cold is far easier to combat than illnesses. On the otjer hand that wall is what keeps the people in the capital safe more or less. Still I think they could have those checkpoints on the bridges just as well. I understand Ashen feeling inferior because of the lack of dragons but he has to remember that he is their king and he has authority among his people. There is a way but without those walls gone all that they've already done will go to waist.

Once again, awesome chapter. I get that Ashen is conflicted but no need to bring up your dragon inferiority. Cessiโs family is strong for many reasons-not just dragons. They are strong as they are just and compassionate as her mothers passion is to save and help others. dude needs to get a clueโฆ
