30+ chapters and I don't really see an Alpha female in this story so far. I don't get the feeling I would too. It's a good love story, but there isn't really any alpha to her besides some strength and pride. I don't see wisdom, control, or a leader. She was raised in blood and violence, but she doesn't act like it at all besides some display in strength. Too easily does she cry from being hurt. She gets swayed by her emotion much too often. We can take Deimos for example, being raised in the darkness should really harden someone destined to be Alpha. At first, she was written very well as an Alpha when dealing with the cold Deimos, but then she became this whimpering mess. I don't see the leadership, self control, and logic Alphas demonstrate. She doesn't have any mental strength. She just cries and cries, and screams and thrash when things go south with Deimos. She doesn't know how to have a discussion. Her anger always boil over, shes always hurt. very hurt. Was this really an Alpha, born from blood and torment? At this point I couldn't differentiate her between just another female wolf with some feist and spunk and an Alpha. As the story continues, I even start wondering maybe she wasn't a worthy Alpha. I have to get reminded that she was one! it's a decent story, but I don't think this is the strong, female lead some of you are looking for.

I wish we could comment/discuss chapter by chapter. I’m up to ‘Glad you’re by my side’ I’m struggling with Lumina’s inexperience and stubbornness. she continually takes one or two comments from Deimos and runs with her own assumptions, without taking the time to take to him. she’s very ruled by her emotions all of the time. I know this is from her upbringing and having to literally teach herself everything, but after the amount of time they’ve been together, does she not see patterns. 🤦‍♀️ I do love that these characters can actually make me feel all the different emotions 😁

Let’s see if this comment actually stays up. I am really trying to stick this one out since I purchased it, but Lumina has got to be one of the most unlikeable females I have ever read. She is stubborn, immature, and just plain petty for most of the book. This is not at all the story I expected for an “Alpha” Female. As much as I would like to read Phobos because he intrigues me, I just feel like it will be a regurgitated version of this story.

I’m on chapter 13 - A Friend In Need - I just noticed I haven’t read Luna’s name yet. Do we know her name or is that something that comes up later? No spoilers please. I’m just curious if I missed it. She is always referred to as ‘Alpha’ ‘Luna’ or ‘Mate’ always a title with no name.

I started reading this book because of Phobos. I kept trying to understand how your style is so different from other authors. I MIGHT have an idea - the book doesn't relay the events from the main character's point of view, it rather relays the impressions and feelings of the main character regarding those events. Very interesting.

The whole relationship between Deimos and her is like so messed up. I don’t see how this naturally unfolded, his change in character is way to abrupt, maybe it’s just because I don’t like him. She doesn’t act like a strong Alpha female, she doesn’t inspire me to feel like she’s strong or will accomplish much more. She’s more like a sad child, and I wish she would just reject Deimos and find a new mate, but I have a feeling that’s definitely not how the story will go. like he’s done nothing but embarrass, disrespect, and hurt her the entire time and we’re still supposed to like him and want them to be together? he treats her like a toy, like she’s just property to him, and now suddenly it has changed? we’re supposed to believe that he never actually had feelings for Theia? What was it all about after she attacked her then? Deimos dragged her up to the room and basically told her that he didn’t think she was worthy of being his Luna, and why the fudge was he all over her all the time if he didn’t actually like her and just wanted her to fill the Luna position? when he had already found his mate at that point? obviously that points to some kind of feeling even if it was an attatchment based off of what is most familiar to you (because they had grown up together, knew each other so long, even if that was all there was, that’s still an attatchment) so him saying all of that about how he never liked her doesn’t seem very true to me. or at the least it doesn’t seem to make sense the way it was written. it’s like Stockholm syndrome or something. every move he has made up until this point has been like some kind of power play where he demeans her and makes himself look like an asshole. I mean why would the other wolves in the pack just watch as he treats his Luna/mate that way? she’s basically their queen and he’s the king I get that but like are you going to like a king that just treats the queen like trash everyday in front of everyone? why do people respect him? what’s his redeeming qualities here? his jealousy? his possessiveness!? this isn’t sexy, this isn’t a love story, it’s just really sad.

how long was the time frame between when their souls joined they started anew by acting like how they should have when they first met & when Lumina moved back to the castle to live with him as a proper family?? this seems very confusing why did it take so long from the time Deimos announced the change in the pack for Lumina to forgive him? shouldn’t she have been at peace with him after he abolished the tradition? and why did it take so long to reconcile even after their souls joined? I am confused why lumina continued to block him even after that??
