hmnn I wonder if Pan is the sentient part of the systems A.I …. and his physical body is the entire computer system. Maybe Pan is an acronym for something like Physical Artificial Network. Thinking about the legend of the God Prometheus, he helped humankind evolve by stealing fire from Zeus and teaching humans how to use it. So Pan has a similar function. Shrug. Can only wait and see what is revealed in future chapters.
